YOUR DREAMS
Dear dreams,
I don't know why everyone fusses over you so much, every time we had a rendezvous you would only show what a horrible life I live.
And to the dreams for the future, you helped me as a child. I would dream for Jake to lift me up on my feet and bring me happiness or that one day mum and dad will realize what they've done and treat me like a princess.
But boy was I wrong.
As the years went by, as the treatment got worse I slowly lost my hope in you. You could no longer bring me happiness, you could no longer bring me a sense of safety. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I could no longer appreciate you like everyone else does. I could no longer have anything to look up to.
I felt nothing.
I wish I did have you to guide me, to give me something to look forward to at night. Something to work for.
But meeting my new best friend the rope was my only dream.
That's what kept me going.
Or should I say,
ending?
Yours forever, Veronica
