You find yourself studying the phone number often, when you are just sitting around. You can't go anywhere because of your car situation, so you have no choice but to walk places or sit around and do nothing. You hadn't actually called Mark yet, but it had only been four days before that you had gotten his number. Best to not stress about it too much. You sigh and almost tuck the paper into your pocket, but your mom snatches it out of your hands.
"Yoink!" She says gleefully. "Whats this?" She examines the paper. "Ooh a phone number?" She says slyly. "Who's is it?""No ones." You reply, blushing. She laughs and gives the number back to you. You put it away hastily. She gives you a concerned motherly smile.
"Don't worry honey." She says, putting her arm on your shoulder. "You can use my car to get places." You don't like that idea. Your mothers car isn't exactly... nice. She kisses your forhead, then stands up. "Have nothing to do but mope?" She asks. You shrug in reply. "Want to do something with me?" She gets an anticipating glint in her eye. You'd rather not, but you feel like it would do you both some good to hang out once in a while.
"Sure." You smile as your mother takes your hand with a big grin. She leads you to her room. Her room is pretty big, with a nice pc on a large desk covered in knick knacks and a picture of you as a baby. She sits in her chair which looks identical to Mark, Ryan and Matt's, and slides to the right. She pulls up a small wooden chair next to hers and tells you to sit. She pulls open the browser as you take a seat and goes to her favorite anime streaming website.
"This is a good starter," she tells you. "You might like it." She clicks on an old looking anime called inuyasha and starts the first episode. You have to admit, it wasn't as bad as you had thought it might be. After a few episodes, she suggests doing something else, and she pulls open YouTube. Just when she's about to start it up, your cell phone rings. You pull it out of your pocket but you don't recognise the number. You get up and leave the room."Hello?" You ask, somewhat cautiously.
"Hi (y/n)" The caller replies.
"Mark?" You're surprised. "How did you know my number?" Mark chuckles from the other end.
"I asked Matt and Ryan." He says. You blush, remembering that you have a cleaning business. You feel silly now.
"Oh." You say quietly. You here more laughter from Mark's end.
"Do you need something?" You ask."I do." Mark replies.
"Oh? Whats wrong?" You ask, eyebrows raised.
"I need you to have dinner with me sometime." You are quiet for a few moments out of surprise and confusion.
"Um, what?" You are completely caught off guard. Is he asking you out?
"I'm asking you out." He answers your thoughts. You can feel your face heating up.
"Um...o-okay?" Your hands are shaking already. You had never really been asked out since prom night senior year of high school. You we're certainly out of practice. You can feel Mark's smile through the phone.
"I'll pick you up on Saturday at about 6:40 " He tells you. "Don't dress too extravagantly." He chuckles.
"A-alright..."
"See you then, bye (y/n)" Mark's end clicks as he hangs up the phone, but you stand there, your cell to your ear, still surprised. After a few moments, your mom comes to check on you.
"Whats up?" She asks.
"I.. just got asked out..." you tell her.
"By who?!" Her smile is wide.
"A cleaning client. " you put your phone away and sigh.
"Aannd..?"
"I said yes."
Your mom laughs, a smile on her face."Its about damn time." She chuckles. "Lets get back to mother daughter bonding though alright? " You nod and go back to your mom's room. You sit and your mom pulls up one of her favorite youtubers, an Irish gamer called Jacksepticeye. You watch a couple of his new episodes of a game called Ben and ed. You have to admit he's a pretty funny guy, though he swears a lot and makes crude jokes. Part of the funniness you guess. It also seems to just be part of his personality.
"This is another one of my favorites. " Your mom announces. "He's a doll." She fangirls to herself. When she pulls up the video on a YouTube gamer playing a horror game called Fran bow, you realize where you had seen the blue and black recording room walls.
"Hello everybody, my name is Markiplier, and welcome back to Fran bow..." The man announces. The man is Mark. The man you had met 4 days ago when you cleaned his house. A youtuber with 9,000,000 subscribers called Markiplier.
