For the rest of the drive, both you and Mark we're quiet. Only when Mark stopped the car at a small restaurant did he finally speak, breaking the long silence.
"We're here. I hope you'll like it.". He gives you a small smile before stepping out into the chilly spring air, a small breeze blowing his blue hair gently to the side. He rounds to your side and opens the car door.
"M'lady" He smiles and says in a deep tone. You smile back and thank him.
"Shall we go in, (y/n)?" He hold out his arm. Shyly, you link your arm in his. As you enter the small building the cold fall atmosphere changes to the warm glowing inside of the restaurant. There are people seated at small tables and at the bar. Everyone seems to know each other. A waitress comes over.
"Mark, great to see you!" She smiles and shakes his hand.
"Thanks, Deb." Mark replies warmly.
"No Ryan and Matt today?" She asks, glancing at you, and smirking at your twin outfits.
"Nope, just this lovely lady." Mark turns and looks at you.
"Um, hi, I'm (y/n)." You tell her.
"Hi I'm Debbie." She takes your hand and shakes it. Her grip is surprisingly firm, and it actually leaves your hand a little bit sore.
"Same seat?" Debbie asks Mark.
"No, just a two seat table, thanks." Debbie nods and leads you to a cute table in the corner of the resuraunt, by a large window. You sit down, happy that you can see out into the night sky.
"What would you guys like to drink?" Debbie asks, taking her post as a waitress.
"Water for me." Mark tells her. You stop and think for a moment.
"Do you have sparkling lemonade?" You ask. Debbie nods with a small smile.
"Normal, raspberry, or strawberry? "
"Definitely raspberry."
"Good choice!" Debbie turns and walks away.
Mark chuckles a little bit.
"What?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Thats what I figured you would order. Its cute." Mark twitches one side of his mouth into a smile.
You feel yourself blush a small bit. "Its always been my favourite drink since I was little."
"Thats interesting. What else do you want to tell me about yourself?" He asks, placing his chin on his hands.
"Um, like what?" You ask him.
"Hmm, favourite colour?"
"Aquamarine"
"Favourite animal?"
"None. I love most animals."
"Favourite holiday?"
"Definitely Christmas."
"Favourite season?"
"Summer. I love the beach."
"Hmm, let's see... Birthday?"
You pause. "Uh, I think it was December 14th. " you say, a hand to your chin in thought. "Is it weird that I don't remember my own birthday clearly? I like to not think about it too much. Sore memories."
Mark's eyes are filled with questions, but he seems too polite to ask about your bad memories.
Debbie comes back with your drinks and places them down in font of you guys and hands each of you a small menu.
"Thanks, Deb" Mark nods to her and she leaves again.
You take a look at the menu. Everything looks so good that it will be a tough choice.
One thing you notice is that Mark doesn't even glance at his menu. He has been here a lot you remember. Maybe he already knows the menu.
You glance over the food once more, and finally decide some Pesto pasta that looks very good. When Debbie returns you order the pesto and Mark orders some clam chowder.
You take a small sip from your lemonade to find that it is completely more than you had expected.
"This is amazing!" Your eyes widen with joy and surprise and you take out the straw and throw back your head to take a big gulp, like it was an alcoholic drink.
Mark looks surprised as well.
"That good, huh?" He asks with a smile.
You nod."God yes." Finally your food arrives and you both dig in. The food is nearly as good as the drink, and you finish before Mark does. Leaning back in your seat, you close your eyes and sigh.
"I feel classy." You say with a small chuckle. Mark laughs with you, his deep voice complimenting your higher one.
"Sarcasm, (y/n)?" Mark chuckles. "Never thought you'd stoop so low."
You crack open an eye. "We barely even know each other. You know hardly anything about this girl. "
"Well," Mark finishes up the last bite of his dinner. "I already know that I've helped you become more comfortable with yourself. " Mark's smile was soft. "I'm really glad that you can open up to me, even if it's only a little bit at a time."
You think about this for a couple of moments. "Yeah..." Hearing yourself confirm this warmed your heart a little bit. "You've really saved me... Even in this short amount of time. "
