It was her mom's idea and its her mother who chose the dinner place; it was in a five- star restaurant who happens to be her mom's favorite hang- out family friend kasi nila ang may- ari. As usual they are the first who arrive, she felt awkward about the dinner. In the first place it was her mom and Alex mother's idea.
"Mom I am really begging, please behave.'' She hissed, they were occupying the VIP table.
Her mom, a late beauty queen was always been in her poise which seldom misinterpreted by anyone. "Honey, I just wanted to meet the family of Alex. He seems a good man that is why we are in the next step..meeting his family." Anito.
She exasperately sighed. "We don't have label mom, right no we are just friends. He's not even courting me." Anya.
"Because you still making these excuses, he likes you and that's what more important." Mukang botong- boto ito sa binata.
She rolled her eyeballs; she knew she will never win. "This is insane mom, really."
Maya- maya pa ay dumating na sina Alex kasama ang mommy nito; napakasimple pero may class ang mommy nito at higit sa lahat ay nakasmile ito agad.
"Hello there, pasensya na at medyo late kami." Tila at ease na ito agad.
"Its okay, balae." Susog ng mommy ng dalaga, mukhang close na ang dalawa. Nagtinginan pa sina Alex at tany ng magbeso- beso ang mga ito.
"Hijo, bumati ka sa iyong mommy Ara." Wika ng ina ng binata.
Alanganing iniabot ng binata ang bouquet ng tulips sa ina ni Tany, "Good evening po." sabay beso dito.
"Oh thank you, how thoughtful are you hijo." Masayang kinuha nito ang bouquet. "and its my favorite flower."
Alanganing ngumiti na lang si Tany ng sumulyap sa kanya si Alex, tila ay meron silang hindi alam na alam ng mga ito.
"Good evening po.'' Bati at nakipagbeso din si Tany sa mommy ni Alex.
"Such a beautiful girl,." Hinawakan nito sa pisngi si Tany sabay tingin kay Alex, "napakagaling talaga pumili ng anak ko".
"Ma.." nahihiyang saway ni Alex sa ina sabay kamot sa ulo.
"Anyway, lets all sit down." Aya ng mommy ni Tany.
Umorder na muna sila ng pagkain, katabi nila ang mga nanay nila pero magkatapat sa upuan ang dalawa. Busy sa kwentuhan ang dalawa na animo hindi iyon ang una nilang pagkikita na pinagtatakahan nina Alex at Tany.
"Have you met before?" bigla ay sabad ni Alex.
Natigilan naman ang dalawa at nagkatinginan.
"Mukang close kayo." Segunda ni Tany.
"I only knew na fan ka ni Tita Ara, ma." Muli ay diga ni Alex sa ina.
"Oopps, hijo...mommy ang itawag mo sa akin.'' Pagkokorek ng mommy ni Tany.
Bigla ay tila nasamid si Tany sa tinuran ng ina, there's really something they didn't know.
"Actually.." start ng mommy ni Alex. "I am a huge fan of Ara, and it happens na we are classmates way back in high school." Pag- amin ng mommy ni Alex.
"And we met before, sa isang business summit buhay pa ang dad mo nun Alex." Segunda ng mommy ni Tany.
"We just saw each other again tonight though we already contacted each other." Masayang kwento pa ng ina ni Alex. "You know what mga anak, we are so happy knowing that you dated each other."
