Useless and Vulnerable

Hey! sorry it's been so long but school starts the 15th for me! Ahhh only a few days left til school starts and when it does I won't be able to write until weekends or breaks :/ Anyway here you are! Enjoy and feel free to comment :)

    I walked in and the house was dark and quite. Charlie left a note that he was sorry about working late again and I left it on the table and walked up to my room, tired from all that happened.

    I opened the door to my room and saw Amber sitting on my bed and reading one of my 'Seventeen' magazines "I can't believe you read this" she laughed as she flipped through the pages "I got that a long time ago" I said in defense and snatched the magazine from her hands, she rolled her eyes "I like people breaking in to my house as much as the next girl but why are you here?" I asked as I plopped on my bed "I was waiting for you to get home so we could go shopping for outfits for that guys party but now the mall is closed" she frowned, I raised my eyebrows "What party?" I questioned oblivous to what was going on at High school socially, Amber rolled her eyes "A guy at our school is having a 'middle of the summer' party but I forgot you were to busy with your dreamy dog boyfriend" she said in a fake girly voice "Shape-shifter" I corrected "Whatever" she sighed.

     "So how is everything?" she asked nudging me playfully, I paused and decided that I could trust Amber "Fine, horrible, and then akward" I stated letting my head fall back on the pillow propped up against my head board, Amber looked at me confused "Renesmee is so awesome and cute and i'm phyced to be an Aunt but the Voltri think she's full vampire so they are comming to 'take care of it'" I explained using air qutation notes, Amber nodded "My brother told me about the Voltri and how they 'take care of things' and about this one chick that can make you feel like your burning in flames" I quivered thinking about an evil scary vampire girl making the Cullens and Jacob scream in pain, I shuttered at the thought and shaked the image out of my head.

      All of a sudden there was a knock at my window, Amber moaned in annoyence and I opened my window to Jacob, he swiftly climbed in my room and the expression on my face told me that something was wrong. "We have to go now" he said urgently "What? Why?" I questioned getting worried "Alice had a vision that the Voltri will be here soon" he uttered "Will that was quick" Amber muttered "I'll go with you" Amber offered smiling sweetly at Jacob, who laughed "No" then he turned to me and was about to say something when I cut him off "I'm already packed, I was going to visit my mom this summer but I guess I'll use the clothes I packed for that" I told him "I'm comming" Amber said quickly, Jacob sighed but I smiled and knew that he had given in.

    We were on our way in Bella's old truck since she got a new one from Edward and gave the truck to me for when I get my drivers license, but when I did I would get a new car, no offence to the truck or anything but it wasn't really my style. The truck stayed silence until my phone rang, I struggled to get my phone out of my pocket since I was between Jacob and Amber in the small truck. "It's Charlie" I sighed "Tell him your sleeping over at my house" Amber offered "Hello? Hey Charlie I'm at Ambers house and going to spend the night since its kind of late, ok bye love you too" I said hanging up the phone. I watched the road as Jacob drived "Your driving over the speed limit" Amber warned "Says the vampire" Jacob uttered but I was to distracted thinking about Bella and Edward and Renesmee's safty to say anything. What would happen if it turned into a fight? Could the Cullens and the other vampires really win? Would Jacob go with them? I hoped not but knowing Jacob he would be.

   We pulled up the Cullens drive way and wasted no time getting to the door or knocking. We walked into the Cullens and it was even buseir than it was the day before. "Wow thats alot of vampires" Amber muttered as some of the vampires turned to look at us and it looked like Amber was trying to avoid eye contact, I silently laughed. Bella must have heard us because she appeared in seconds "Hey" she said hugging me "Bella this is my friend Amber" I introduced, Bella smiled at Amber and Edward laughed "Megan can't you make any human friends?" he joked "Steven is a human" I defended "Or atleast I think he is" I said more to myself "Oh he is, he's not cool enough to be super natural" Amber joked, I glared at her "Exept for you" she giggled, Jacob and I rolled our eyes.

    "So whats going on?" I asked Bella and Edward "They are on there way and we're getting ready, hopefully it won't turn into a fight as long as they let us show them the truth" Edward answered. I could tell he was stressed because of the disapearence of Alice and Jasper but I knew that they would never abandon their family. "What are we supposed to do until then?" Amber asked "You and Megan can stay here while the rest of us go meet the Voltri, Charlie will be safe at the police station" Bella explained "What? We're just going to sit here?" I asked in annoyence "There's not much you can do" Edward said softly and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't help but think that he was right. What could a human do against a powerful vampire? I dropped on the couch and sighed, I felt useless and vulnerable and I hated it.

     "Bella and Renesmee were talking with me when Edward walked over and whispered something in her ear and Bella sighed "We have to go, the Voltri are almost here" I frowned and hugged her "Be safe" I told Edward, Renesmee and my sister "Always" she said as they started walking out "You better be back" I told Jacob in a stern voice "No promises" he smirked, I looked at him seriously "Just kidding, you know I will" he said as he hugged me tight, we pulled back and I gave him a kiss and smiled and leaned down to kiss again but I pulled away "Not until you come back" I whispered and he smiled.

    Soon the whole house was empty and it was just me and Amber "They'll be fine" she asured me "I know they will" I said mostly to myself but I couldn't help but worry for them and wish that there was something, anything that I could do.
