Chapter 18- Changing Forks

I woke up to the sound of someone struggling in my room. Out of instict I rushed of and looked around the room to see Jacob about to climb out of the window. I took a deep breath "Leaving so soon?" I asked michiviously, he smirked "New pack meeting, Of course" he whispered comming closer "I could skip" he wrapped his arms around my waist and it was my turn to smirk. "No no you go on and meet your pack Alpha Jacob" I whispered back. He grunted "Alright but I'll be back later" he told me, I tilted my head in suspicion "The packs going to the beach to celebrate" I smiled "Don't be late" I warned him "Wouldn't dream of it" he said back and climbed out of the window after giving me a pick on the cheek.

   When I was sure he was gone I blushed and smiled to myself. I got out my diary and I started jotting down all the events that had happened. I had kept the diary ever since I was a little girl and my mom gave it to me but I just recently started writing in it.

   I took a shower and finished my summer reading project I was supposed to do before the summer ended. I sighed. This summer was the best one of my life and I never wanted it to end. I never thought going to live with my dad would effect my life as much as it had and how much life would change and that I wouldn't look at it the same way again. I wouldn't ever be the same, Forks had changed me.

   A couple hours past before I heard Jacobs motercycle. I smiled and ran outside to greet him as he handed me the other helmet. The ride to the beach was just as exciting as the first.

   When we got to the beach it seemed everyone else was there. There was Quil, Embry and Seth playing around near the water, Billy Black, Sue Clearwater and Leah sitting in lawn chairs and talking by the bomb fire they set up in the sand. Billy's face lit up when he saw Jacob and I approach them "Glad you could make it" he smiled "Of course I wouldn't miss it for the world" I smiled.

   Even though it was summer, it still looked cloudy and rainy on the beach. Big shocker right? I took a seat besides Jacob who sat my his father. They talked about the responciblity of being an alpha and that Billy was proud of Jacob for honoring his heratige. Turns out Billy and I both knew Jacob has what it takes to become successful. After a little more chit-chat Jacob must have grown bored and decided to play around with the boys. I decided to walk over to the soda machines to grab a couple drinks for the pack and adults. "I'll go with you" Leah offered, I hisatated before I nodded.

    We walked in akward silence "I'm sorry for giving you the cold shoulder, its just you being Bella's sister, I thought you were going to hurt him the same way she did" Wait..was this an apology? From Leah? "I've seen what heartbreak does to a person, I mean I should know. One second it seems all happy and like a fairytale, then next thing you know your alone and he's with the girl of his dreams" she muttered. I stopped walking and turned to her "I'm sorry about Sam" I said as she looked down from the pain of his name, even though it seemed like a long time ago I could see she was still hurt "And I know being in a pack with all boys and no one to talk to must feel like hell" I added "I never knew what that felt like, I've always had Bella or my mom to talk to" I admitted "Yeah it is, especially when they know all your thoughts, talk about akward" we both let out a little laugh "if you need anybody to talk to you could always talk to me" I offered as we approached the vending machines. "Thanks, I'm sure it would be easier trying to talk to them about it" she said pointing to the boys wrestling eachother in the water, we both laughed and shook our heads.

   I got the sodas for the pack and adults and we made our way back. The boys ran back to the pit site and grabbed their sodas "Your welcome" Leah grunted.

   One by one the pack started to leave. First it was Quil because he had to watch Claire while her mother went shopping, next it was Billy because he didn't want to miss the big game on tv, Sue drove him home and Embry had a date. Jacob broke into hysterics when Embry told him that "With who? Your mom?" he joked "No its with a girl from school" Embry said in defense.

   Soon it was just Leah and I setting on the bench that faced the ocean and Seth and Jacob playing in the water. "I swear he acts just like a kid these days" Leah grunted, I laughed "Tell me about it" We ended up talking about everything from school to what we wanted to do next summer. She even told me about her hopes of imprinting on someone herself. "I just want to find that someone who gets me and loves me for who I am" she stated, I nodded in understandment "You will when its time" I assured her. Both Seth and Leah went home short afterwards.

     Jacob and I were walking back to the motorcycle "I talked with Leah today" I told him, he turned to me "Oh great what did she do now?" he asked annoyed "Nothing" I laughed "We actually had a nice girl talk" he laughed "You and Leah?" he asked doubtfully "Is that so hard to believe?" he grunted "Just a little" I rolled my eyes "Well I think we'll get along just fine" I smiled "I'll believe it when I see it" I took my waterbottle that I had gotten earlier and poured it over him lauging as his shirt and hair was soaked. "Oh so you think thats funny huh?" he asked trying to sound threatening but was laughing "Yeah I do" I giggled, suddenly he shaked his head like a dog so I would get sprayed with water by his hair "Heyy!" I squeled as he smiled a smug smile "Now we're even" I rolled my eyes "Your such a two year old" I joked. OK so maybe Forks didn't change me, but we were changing it.
