The first weekend, after classes has started, was one of the things I have been waiting excitedly for. First of all, my family will be in town which means I get to hang out with them the whole weekend while they’re here. They booked in a hotel fifteen minutes away from my school, and I have expecting them all morning. Actually, I was even having a hard time sleeping last time just because I’ll be seeing them after such a long time.
Cassie, my older sister however, won’t be able to make it because she too is busy with college in a different university. She decided to stay in Cali with her friends than leave state, like I did. But most of all, I think the main reason was that thinking about my parents of having both their daughters outside of state.
Another thing I got excited about was because they’ll be driving my car to the campus. Nope, they didn’t drive from Cali, instead, they bought me a car in New York online and they’ll be fetching the car this morning prior to meeting me at the campus. Megan’s car though came from North Carolina, which her dad was driving, along with her mum.
Megan’s family came earlier than expected. Greeted by a slick silver car, Megan jumped in joy. It was her baby, and honestly, she treated it as one. It was her old car, a gift when she was sixteen, but she made sure it was well taken care of.
“You sure missed her more than you missed us.” Marian commented, Megan’s mum, also my Aunt.
“Him, actually.” I scoffed, and then greeted my Aunt Marian and Uncle Scott.
“Does ‘him’ have a name?” Marian teased, and by now, Megan has been starting to breathe heavily, possibly sweating with my fascinating conversation with her mum. From the corner of my eye, I could see Scott, playfully pounding both his hands together, about to punch someone at the sound of having his sweet Megan a boy.
Don’t get me wrong, his dad may be strict with her, but they’re such a fun loving family, just like mine. Always living life to the fullest, despite problems at hand, still looking at the bright side, and sleeping the night with a smile. Yes, they do fight too, it’s normal. But they make sure they talk about it before it gets big.
“Mhm…” I confirmed with a nod, and by now, Megan has suddenly placed a hand on my mouth to stop spilling the beans.
“Tell me, tell me, tell me!” Now you know where Megan got her overexcitement personality as Marian squealed in my ears, probably making me deaf in the long run. I’m quite amazed at how Scott maintained his clear hearing despite his wife and daughter’s tandem in the house, blaring their high-pitched voices.
“His name is Niall.” I nodded and smiled.
To think her mum wouldn’t know the guy would be a lie. “That blonde boy from the British boy band?” Should I be worried? If that was my mum, I’d be… I don’t know, embarrassed?
“Wait, but how?” Marian asked. And that caught Megan shooting daggers at her own mother for thinking lowly of her, sort of.
“I kind of met his friend first, and then we both saw them at London airport.” I explained which Marian nodded. “They both go to school here too.” Now, she’s even more excited. Good thing, she isn’t my mum though.
“So who’s your guy now?” Marian asked. The thing that got her curious was the fact I haven’t had any guy after Cody, so this was like good news to him. But it isn’t good news.
“Zayn.” Megan chimed in, now obviously they’re going to team up against me.
My turn to glare. “He’s not mine. He has a girlfriend.”
“Oh… Is someone jealous?” Marian commented suggestively, and it was really driving me nuts to have a conversation like this, one I wasn’t prepared for.
