"So this is Edo," I say with a grim expression as a sweat drop skidded down the side of my head. I didn't expect the rumors about this place to be true. The streets were infiltrated with aliens (or as most people referred to them as 'amanto'), present in your view where ever your head turned.
The country was never this rowdy... It was peaceful. The only things you'd hear were the sounds of nature, the hard labor of the farmers, and the laughter of the local town children. Around here, it's all chaotic and street fights happen at about every corner. Sad to say, this sanctuary is my new home.
What is this place?
Sighing, I continued my voyage in this foreign land. I had no where else to go, anyways. A swarm of amber butterflies flew by me, the color of their fluttering wings matching the shade of my hair that I wore on my left side tied by a golden star hair tie. My hand caressed the star hair tie, a small smile in remembrance of who gave it to me.
Unfortunately, my smile soon faded in rememberence of my reason for traveling to this urban city. I became an orphan right when I was going to turn age 9, my parents losing their lives in the Joui war, causing me to move in with my indifferent grandfather. Though, a few days ago, he died of a heart attack. Before his last breaths, he told me to pack my things and travel here, to Edo, to live with one of his faithful students who he had taught in his younger years. Though, I wish he'd been a bit more definite at where to go. He didn't give me an address to go to, but had told me his student was someone working for the government and was a commander. Pretty specific.
Grumble~
What's that, stomach? You think I'm hungry? Well, yes I am, actually. It's been a while since I last ate, so I might as well go to a restaurant. A reflection from a store glass caught my eye.
"Hm... Will I get fat if I eat too much? Probably not," I ask myself as I examine my body. A frequent sweets eater like me surprisingly does not expand at all like the average person. Inhumanely, my blood sugar doesn't even increase. For an 18 year old girl, I have pretty good figure. The good figured girl wore an indigo and pale yellowed star patterned half-kimono with thigh-high navy blue translucent stalkings.
I slapped myself across the face. "Stop being a narcissist and go eat already." I shrugged my shoulders and brought myself to the closest restaurant I could find.

"Five large strawberry-chocolate parfaits!" I answer to the waitress joyfully.
"O-okay..." She had a weirded out look on her face as she walked off. I swore I heard her mumble the words 'fat girl.'
Momentarily, she came back to my table with a tray and place each one in front of me. Uwaaaaaaaaah!!! We don't have these back in the country! I've tried one when grandfather and I went to deliver some rice to our new rich neighbor, but that didn't taste good as this!
"Omnh! Omnh! Omnh!" I chewed with no reminder of the sin gluttony!
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S NO MORE CHOCOLATE PARFAITS?!" I looked over to the other side of the restaurant to see a silver-white wavy haired man wearing a white and blue half kimino on top of regular clothes in his 20's in an angered state. He stomped his foot onto the table and practically looked like he was about to beat up his waiter.
"S-sorry, sir... Someone else ordered a lot of the p-parfaits and we're running out of supplies!" the scrawny male server replied nervously.
