"A deal?"

"I can help you."

"How?

"You may find this Chase and learn of what he has done."

"Tariq?"

"What is the problem?"

"Chase, he's dead."

"Yes, I know. I haven't told my whole proposal."

"What?"

"I will take you to hell, for that is where his soul resides."

"Yeah, sure."

"It is very real."

"Totally. I'm a unicorn!"

"Funny. His soul will be destroyed and you will never know."

"Know what! What is going on!"

"You may find out yourself."

"How do you know all this?"

"I am not fully human, my love."

"What are you?"

"Temptation."

Tariq smirked and gave me a look that made me tremble. I was truly afraid of this, this thing! Not for what he was, but for what he could do to me. I turned and stared out the window. I remembered the times Chase and I would watch the sun rise. He would always say today is a new day. I felt tears stream down my face, my poor Chase. I felt a hand slip into mine. I turned to see the silvers eyes staring back at me. I pulled my hand from Tariq's grasp.

"For Chase."

"I will be back at midnight and bring necessities. Hell is a brutal place."

"Should I pack anything?"

"Medicines and sentimental values if you'd like, but you'll be safe with me."

"From danger?"

"From being lonely, my love."

I rolled my eyes as he disappeared through the window. I picked up the feather and held it up against the sun's rays: purple, my favorite color. I sighed and sat on the edge of my hospital bed. I watched the sunrise and cried. My mind kept going back to watching the sunrise with Chase. I wiped my face and stood up.

"I promise you I will save your soul. I will fight my way through hell. I will keep loving your memory. After all, today is a new day."
