It was a date near spring but still winter. And I wanted to wear something special so I bought a dress for the date.
He came to pick me up, and I suprised him.
" Michael, would you like to help me put on my necklace? I cant get it to stay on," I sorta laughed at myself.
" Sure," he said, as he turned and clipped it together. He paused, " Jennifer,
I love you very much
You are my only true love
You changed my life
You're my best friend, my love
I dream of you at night
When the stars sparkle like your eyes so bright
I'm crazy for you!!! Love, Michael
I looked at him, as he finished reading it, wanting to cry a bit.
"Boy I was CRAZY about you," he laughed, " Every word still remains."
There was a long pause, " I thought that you had forgotten me....sounds stupid. But I was convinced."
" I couldn't even if I tried, let alone if I wanted to." He stopped talking after that for a while....." Something wrong"
" Is this a new dress?" He asked, pulling on the price tag that was pushing against my skin.
I had forgotten to take off that tag, " This? Well not really."
" Well, the tag is still on it...."
" I mean, it was in my closet and I hadn't worn it or even touched it yet."
" If you say so...c'mon, let's go." He took me to a quiet little garden place where there was one table with an Italian cuisine, flowers and candles. HE pulled a chair for me and I sat down.
" Go ahead, try it." He gestured, " Jennifer, can I ask you a question?" I nodded.
" Did you buy that dress for us tonight?"
I looked at him, as I swallowed a chunk of food that fell down my throat, then I looked around and then down at my bowl of pasta. Then I looked at him again, and gestured for him to come closer, " I can never tell." I whispered. As if I was trying him, and boy was he turned on by that.
" Really?" He winced, " Cause I have ways of making you tell," He leaned in closer, and just when something was about to happen, I felt a cold rush of fluid go down my torso. He had knocked over the wine!
" Oh God," he exclaimed, as I jumped out of my seat. Just when things were getting good! He handed me a towel and I carefully dabbed off the wine. The table rattled so much that the candles had fallen, and just when I thought things couldn't get worse, the cloth lit on fire!
" I think there's a hose over there!" He yelled, and I went to go search for it, it turned on and I tried to direct it at the table. But the water pressure was so powerful it was uncontrollable and I ended up getting Michael, who was standing right in front of the table soaking wet!!!!
He stood in disbelief, and he looked down at his pants, that were soaking. He wiped his face and looked at me, "Oh, this means war!" He went after me to get the hose and I screamed.
" Gimme that hose!" He yelled, over my laughing.
" Try me!" He laughed to hard he couldn't hold the hose and It got both of us as it shot up in the air. I grabbed it again, and got him right in the face, " Hey!" He whined, " not fair!"
I laughed, " I know!"
It was just madness, and at that moment it reminded me so much of life with him back then. Where we could escape and be ourselves. And I enjoyed every minute of this feeling that Michael gave me.
