1989 was a year the thrived continuously. Month after month there would be a completley new exciting opportunity knocking on my door.
The beginning started with MTV performances, interviews, guest appearances, and even photoshoots with Michael. In the middle of spring, I meet Macauly Culkin for a movie I was casted a role in. Culkin was a well experienced actor and his attutude was very high-spirited; something people dont always see in a child actor offstage. He had a talent for pranking others, which I looked at as a gift that this little nine-year-old had. He was mischevious, but in a way that his victim's couldn't stay mad for long.
Janet's music video for, " Rhythm Nation" hit the top charts. Who knew she was mimicking her military moves from Captain EO?
And Michael...just in the process of creating another album. Although his mind was focused on so many different things, he still managed being one of the most greatest performer, sonwriter, dancer and entertainer in music history.
Chrissi had her first birthday in March at Neverland, and the whole family came to celebrate. She loved to sit in Katherine's lap and playing games with her older cousin Brandi and her cousin Jaimy, who was only a year older. Chrissi was already using words and using gestures to get her points across. She may be small but her heart was big. In the end, we hired a photographer to take a our family picture, which is now hung with all the other cherishable photos in the living room.

1989 was the year Michael recieved three awards at the Soul Train ceremony along with his worldwide nickname.
Chrissi was being babysitted at Neverland (since there was a small adult celebration afterwards) that night, And I was able to attend.
Michael was astonished by the awards he had recieved that night, as one came up after another. Although that whole time I was just very proud of the accomplishments and the amount of time and work he has put into the BAD album.
He won the Annual Sammy Davis/Heritage award, the Heritage award for Career Acheivement and "Man in the Mirror" won best Urban Contemporary for a male and the best Urban Contemporary music video. Everytime he went back up to recieve an award, I just wanted to give him a warm embrace. It is definitley a moment to be affectionate about when your husbands work has payed off and he is recieving his awards, knowing how much of a gifted man he really is.
Eddie Murphy and Elizabeth Taylor were presenting him, "ladies and gentlemen, the 1989 heritage award and Sammy Davis Junior award recipient. And in my estimation, The true king of pop rock and soul, Mr. Michael Jackson!"
thriller begin to play from the speakers, and the lights rotated as Michael walked out onto the stage. Quote for us I'd like to thank God who makes all things possible, I'd like to thank my mother and father who I love very much, Joseph and Katherine Jackson. I thank my soulmate the one and only Jennifer Jackson--I love you. I thank Quincy Jones, I don't see him in the audience. I think Bill Bray, John Branca, the epic family... And Larry Stecco and Glenn Bronman--I love you thank you very much."
His words for his awards for "man in the mirror "where similar to his first. After the ceremony, I was crying salty tears of bliss, Michael had embraced me. He always held others was one hand on the back or lower and the other hand on the head. Michael was laughing a bit, still astonished and proud of his success. His gorgeous hair was nudging on my cheek as my tears got onto his black suit. Afterwards, we enjoyed ourselves to a bottle of champagne with Quincy, Bill, Liz and Eddie. We laughed and drink till about 11 or 12 and headed home. And by the time we got home the lights were turned off in Chrissi room but she was wide-awake. "Chrissi go to sleep." I whispered, Laying my hand on her baby cheeks. She grasped my finger. " "Read book! "she shouts.
I hushed her, " I'll read a book but you must fall asleep afterwards, alright?" I grabbed the book from her small shelf, and coincidentally, it was bedtime poetry. So I began to read, and soon after I was finished she was snoozing. I quietly put the book away and left her room, trying hard to walk with silent feet.
