Recap:
I curse under my breath and rummage through the fridge and cupboard but to no avail; I can't find any apples.

I curse again and decide to just skip the apple and not eat anything at all today; one day won't hurt.

I put my bag on as I rush to the door and my stomach sinks when I fling the door open and don't see the bus.

*****

"Are you...." I breathe out slowly and look up and down the street, hearing the door close behind me. "Are you serious?" I run my fingers through my hair and grit my teeth.

I can't stay home because the members might blame me for waking up too late and taking too long with Penelope. But I can't go to school cause I don't have a note as to why I was late.

I bite my lip and grab my phone out of my pocket, then send a quick text to Lexi.

Hey, im not going either. Where are you?

I grab a light blue jacket out of my bag to cover up my school shirt and start walking down the driveway.

When I reach the end of the driveway, I check my phone but, to my surprise, Lexi hadn't replied. I shrug and start walking towards the mall. Luckily, I always keep emergency money in a secret pocket in my bag so I could buy something.

1 tiring hour later, I arrive at the mall and immediately head inside the air-conditioned area.

Yes, even in winter they have the air-con on.

I take a deep breath and look around. I decide to go to the bookstore first. Looking around, my eyes zone in on a book I've been looking for for ages.

Binge.

I do a mini happy dance and rush over to it, thankful I got here early because there's only one left.

Then, it disappears.

I raise an eyebrow at the girl who grabbed it. She's got bright red hair, obviously dyed, blue eyes, freckles and is wearing a shirt from Sword Art Online.

"Uh, excuse me," I say politely with the tiniest bit of sass. I've been taking lessons off Mitch. "I was going to grab that...."

"So was I," she says and raises an eyebrow, still holding the book in one hand. "And I got it first."

"But I've wanted it ever since he said he was writing a book." I reply and grab the other side of the book with my left hand, making her raise her eyebrows higher.

"Me too."

I scowl at her. "Give it to me," I yank it from her hand.

"It's mine," she grabs it back off me.

"No, it's not." I grab it from her hand and she glares at me.
