"So," I begin as we leave the office. "I never found out your name,"

"Connor," he replies and I smile. It suits him. He opens his mouth to speak again but I cut him off.

"I'm Skylar," I answer the question he was about to ask.

"Nice to meet you Skylar." He sends a half smile my way that has my heart fluttering.

"A long time ago, there were four happy ten year old girls sitting in a circle. They were pretty, skinny and loved to laugh. They thought they had all the time in the world.

Their names were Ana, Mia, Cat and Sue.

They were the best of friends and were never seen apart until once day when Ana went home and heard her mummy and daddy fighting.

She ran upstairs and hid under her blankets until she couldn't hear them anymore. She sat in her bed until she heard a knock at her door.

"Who is it?" She said.

"It's me, daddy." She opened the door and let him in.

He picked her up and said, "God, you've gotten heavy. You need to lay off the ice-cream kiddo."

She knew he was joking but deep down inside her she heard a little voice say, "It's true. You did say yourself that your clothes are getting smaller even though they're made for your age."

She smiled it off and hugged her dad before asking him to leave so she could play with her dolls.

The next day she went to her friends and told them what happened. Mia told her that her mum looked skinnier after being sick and not being able to stop throwing up all weekend.

Sue and Cat both decided they should all stop eating sweets and become princesses.

Sue secretly thought that Ana was getting bigger and she should listen to her dad but she didn't tell her because she didn't want Ana to feel how she felt. Suicidal.

Mia wanted to lose weight but she wanted to eat too so she came up with a new rule. She will eat food but then she will throw it back up. Then it's a win-win situation. She didn't know that her rule is what causes bulimia.

Cat didn't like herself anyway. She wanted to lose weight but not just because she thought she needed to but because she enjoys self-pain. She enjoys the feeling of hunger. She already harms herself so why not add more pain to the list?

Ana took what they said and she knew they thought she was fat. She knew she was fat. All she sees on her body is fat. You can't see her hip bones, collar bones, thigh gap or spine.

She started to starve herself but what the other girls didn't know was that everything they told her, everything they told her was perfect, everything they taught her, lead to her being anorexic.
