Jeongin:Midsummer Night's Sweetness

Yein's P.O.V
"Yah,Jeon Jungkook,are you coming or not?"
"Alright,I'm coming,I'm coming,just wait"
I sighed.Its 10pm at night,and I'm just sitting in a park,at a bench with a table,with alcohol,snacks and myself.Its been a stressing week for me,with work and all.And guess what,I can't sleep.So I scrolled through my contact list,and the only person who wouldn't be tired of his work and sleeping would be Jeon Jungkook.
I haven't seen him since we graduated from university,and it was awkward on the phone,since I haven't been talking to him and now I just suddenly call him at 10pm at night to hang out.Well I hate being alone,I can't stand it.And he was the only option.
"Woah,you must be really lonely"
I felt a hand on my shoulder.Ah,I haven't heard that voice since a year ago.
"When I saw you from afar,it looked like you were some old grandma here to kill time because she couldn't sleep"
He said as he took a seat across me.I violently beat him on the arm.
"Owwwwe that hurts!"
He said while faking a pained expression while I chuckled.
"You still haven't changed,Jeon Jungkook"
"Neither has your violent tendencies too,Jeong Yein"
I glared at him as he chuckled before ripping open a packet of chips and pouring some soju for the both of us.
He downed it in one shot before speaking.
"Ahhhhh-
He let out a sigh of satisfaction,before staring at me.
"So,what's changed?"
He asked.
"Nothing much really,just stressed from work"
I answered before popping a chip in my mouth.
"I guess being a fashion designer should be difficult"
He said.
"Of course it is"
I stressed it to him.He smiled.
"Bet ya wish you were me huh?I only need to sort out the documents and give signs of approval~And I'm done~"
I scoffed.
"Nothing much changed for us"
I said.
"You've gotten prettier"
He muttered something under his breath.I couldn't hear it though.
"Huh?Did you say something?"
I asked.He smiled before shaking his head,and looking up at the stars in the sky.He chuckled.
"Remember that time when I got a perfect 100 from the karaoke machine when I sang 'Lost Stars'?"
"Riggghhhhtt,in your dreams,kookie.You got a big,fat zero"
He then proceeded to sing as I covered my ears.
"Just shut up and eat"
I stuffed food in his mouth to prevent him from any more singing.I then stood up,wanting to take a walk along the park.
"Hey!Where are you going?"
He jogged up to me.
"Just taking a stroll around the park"
"Ohh,I must have been very charming,huh?And you need to get away from me to prevent yourself from falling in love with me,right?"
He did a peace sign as I laughed.
"Ha.ha.ha.Very funny Jungkook"
"Just admit it already"
"No way~"
We continued walking for a while.
"OOOHH!!!Fireflies!!!"
I ran forward,in an attempt to take a closer look.
Jungkook's P.O.V
She ran forward,chasing the fireflies.Aish,that innocent girl.
"You're chasing them all away"
She sighed,before stretching her arms.And miraculously,a firefly landed on her hand.
"Waaahh"
She brought her hand closer to her eyes,and observed the firefly.Haha.Cute.
She froze when she heard a rustle from the bush behind her.And instantly,she let out a small scream,before running back to me,letting go of the firefly.She hid behind me,using my body to block hers.
"What was that?"
I approached the bush bravely,and it began rustling again.She whimpered.The bush stopped rustling,and out came...a squirrel?It climbed to the top of the tree before disappearing.
"HAHAHAHAHA YOU WERE SCARED OF A SQUIRREL!?"
I laughed hysterically as she hit my shoulder and she blushed.
She pouted and I slowly stopped laughing.A few moments later,we were lying down on the grass.Just gazing into the sky,side by side.
I stole a few quick glances at her.I realised that all this while I missed her prescence.We weren't that close,but neither were we acquaintances.Believe it or not,I secretly had feelings for her in university.But I didn't have the courage to confess.Slowly,as the year passed by,my feelings slowly faded,but it seems that today,the feelings are stronger than ever before.
"What are you staring at?"
I came back to my senses,and I realised I was staring at her all this while.She stared back with those big,innocent eyes of hers.I felt myself slightly blushing,before I looked away.
"Nothing"
I answered.
"Jeong Yein,don't you miss me?"
I asked suddenly.I could feel her eyes on me.I turned to her.She was flustered,and her cheeks turned into a light shade of pink.
"Well,of course!Who doesn't miss their classmates?"
She said and awkwardly laughed after.She stopped and there was an awkward silence around us.
"Then,do you miss me?"
She asked.This time,I was flustered.What should I say?Yes?Or No?Or the same answer as her?
After contemplating for quite a while,I decided to not say anything.Instead,I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly.
And that shall be my answer.
She let out a small and soft gasp,but afterward just grabbing my hand tightly too.

I sent her home with my car.We were now currently outside of her house.Not in then car.
"Thanks for coming and accompanying me today,I appreciate it"
She said.
"No problem"
"Maybe next time,we could,umm,do this again?Or hang out again?If we aren't too busy?"
I smiled.
"Sure"
She smiled back as she waved goodbye,but ran back.She gave me a peck on the lips before running back to her house.
"Bye!"
She smiled and waved.
I was a little stunned,but managed to smile and wave back.
The door closed as I sighed and drove back home.A midsummer night's sweetness it was.
