Life could have thrown anything at me this week, and it had to choose Slenderman.
Hi, I'm Sam Stardust, and some weird stuff has been happening to me lately. During the middle of the night, my whole body would start glowing, and sparks started flying from my hands. Just stuff no normal person should be able to do.
I tried telling my friends about it, and they had some weird reactions. Let me set the scene...
It was a beautiful fall day in Phoenix Arizona, leaves scattered on the sidewalk, and I was walking to school with my two best friends, Max Blazen, and Adri Gladius. It didn't matter the situations I was in, they would be there for me.
At first I was walking alone, but just like any other day they came out of nowhere. Max appeared from an aging tree, yelling, "Hey Sam!" in my direction. I nearly jumped out of my shoes when I saw him. As usual, he was wearing a colorful Hawaiian shirt, with dirty blue jeans and his classic alpaca jacket on top. I couldn't understand how he never got cold. The cool wind clashed with my red leather jacket as I thought about this. His bright red hair gleamed in the sunlight, making is head look on fire. I waved at him, and he came running to me.
We walked for a few minutes, and I knew I needed to confess what was happening to him. I looked at Max, and he seemed to be distracted at something else. "Hey, can I tell you a secret, Max?
"Yeah dude, you can tell me anything. As much as you might think, nothing you say will weird me out."
I smiled appreciatively at him, I knew I could always count on him for any danger I was in. "Well, some weird stuff has been happening to me lately..."
After I explained what was happening, Max nodded, deep in thought. Adri walked towards us, his fencing gear at his side. I guess I forgot to mention, he loves sword fighting, and has lost to no one. At least, he hasn't lost in a long time. His long black hair bounced around as he walked beside us, "What are you guys talking about today? From the look on Max's face, I'd say it's important."
Once Max explained my weird powers to Adri, he laughed. "As weird and crazy as you think that sounds, you can believe Max and I have been through worse. Trust me, you'll get through this, for now let's get to school."
So yeah, that's that. I expected completely different reactions from them compared to what I had.
I couldn't stop thinking about what was happening to me while Adri and I were in science class. Glowing at night, sparks flying from hands, and I even gained these ideas lately that I never knew of before. Everything about astronomy, space, and all this crap I never knew of before.
"Well, Mr. Stardust? What is the answer?"
I looked back up at Mr. Stern, completely zoned out from the class, "I'm sorry Mr. Stern, could you repeat that?"
Mr. Stern sighed, his hand combing his dark gray hair. "What is the formula for work? You know, what you rarely do."
I groaned. I never knew this stuff, and I never-
"Work is equal to force multiplied by distance."
Everyone stared at me, and I lowered in my chair. How did I know that?
Stern coughed nervously, and straightened his posture, "Very good, Samuel. I had assumed you weren't listening, but I was mistaken."
I looked over to Adri, and his eyes were as wide as dinner plates, "How did you know that?!" He whispered to me. I did the wisest reaction of my life that day, something I could never repeat the exact same way.
I shrugged at him, and gave him a cheesy grin.
Once science was over Adri, Max, and I went over to my locker to talk.
Max, as usual, seemed deep in thought, staring at my bright blue crystal eyes. Adri on the other hand was jumping from place to place, practicing fencing while talking to us. "So you kind of have powers of the stars, right? Either that, or you're like a human microwave."
I rolled my eyes at him, trying to keep up with the way he moved, "I really don't know what's happening to me, but I'm pretty sure it's not the powers of a microwave."
I turned around to ask Max what my powers might be, but he wasn't there. "Hey Adri, where's Max? He was here just a second ago..."
I looked back while asking Adri, but he was gone too. Now I was panicking, what is going on?
In the distance, I saw a tall man slowly walking towards me. I looked harder, and saw he was wearing a mask on his head, showing a weird clock. I tried walking towards him, but I felt a hand grab my mouth. I looked back, and he was gone, now right behind me, shoving a black bag over me. I tried to scream, but the bag muffled the noise. He tossed me like a rag doll onto a cold floor, right as I slipped unconscious.
