It has been four hours, and I have withstood the most horrible torture. The torture of fear. My fears.

About two hours ago, Travis had just left me in the glass box, abandoning me in a blanket of my fears. It's been the most silent, horrifying  two hours of my life. My mind says it's been two hours, but my body feels like it's been years. My midnight blue hair has grown several inches, or so it feels. It hurts to breathe, and I feel somewhat...older.

I feel like this glass box Travis has me encased me in is a metaphor, indicated how fragile they have made me become. They could come here, back in my dream, and break the glass. I've got to learn to become more, the most powerful, and fast. They seem to want me for something, and I don't want to find out what.

I concentrated, and tried to float the glass box I was in into the air. The glass box wiggled slightly, but showed no sign of going anywhere. I concentrated harder, determination starting to fill my mind. This is my mind, not Travis'. I control what happens to me in here, I thought. I stared at my hand, and tried to create a black hole.

It took all my strength, but I willed my fist to conjure a sphere of pure darkness, dark purple sparkles erupting around it. It was about the size of a baseball, and felt comfortable in my hand. It felt cold, and was vibrating, wanting to escape from my hand and suck everything into its grasp. I held it tight, and threw the black hole, aiming at the glass box that held me from my freedom.

The glass cage erupted, and the glass shined around me, blinding me for a fraction of a second. As it all scattered across the ground, I took a step forward, and a smile entered my face for the first time in four hours. I was free.

Now all I had to figure out was how to return to the real world again. I sighed, and examined my surroundings I have been stuck with for four hours.

The glass box I was in was next to the bright room from the Breaker's Mansion. When I exploded the cage, the chains on the ground next to me showed no dents from the glass, still dark black. That's what my mind is right now. No other signs of emotions, just black. I need to change that, what Travis, Bris, The Breakers did to me. I need to regain my creative side.

In a flash of pink sand, I recreated my friends using my creativity. Max, Adri, Sarah, and Terra. They looked around, and nodded in my direction, "Where are we?" they said in unison.

I smiled, glad to see my friends once again, kind of. "I'm kind of trapped in my own mind, or something. Since that's the case, I figured I'd bring you guys with me." They groaned, and walked around slowly, taking it all in. Max looked as if he was about to say something, but he was interrupted by a quiet applause from behind us. I turned, and growled at what I saw.

Bris smiled despicably, "Well done, Sam. Travis told me to come over to keep you company. You know, it has been four days, after all."

I backed away, shocked. "...Four days...? How is that possible?"

I looked back, "Did you guys know about-"

When I looked back to Max, Adri, Sarah, and Terra, they weren't there. It was only Bris and I, but I didn't plan on going back to my weak state easy.

I stepped closer to her, preparing to conjure a black hole. "So, if you're going to keep me inside here for longer, then I want some answers. Why do you keep entering my mind?"

Bris smiled, "Okay, I'll answer some questions, but that's all. Better yet, why don't I answer them to you while you're awake?"

Much faster than usual, I burst awake. No bright flash this time, and no change of scenery. Now that I was awake, I was in the room from my dreams. The bright room Bris introduced me to from the Breakers Mansion. However, I wasn't in the chains, and I was lying on the floor. Nearby, two different black shackles lay in the corner of the room, emitting a painful aura.

I got up, and saw Bris leaning on the wall opposing me. She showed no expression, and wore the usual, but slightly more. She had a buttoned black coat on, and a grey skirt. "Just so you know, I made this room to where a protector can go in, but they can't come out. Unless, of course, they're holding on to one of us. If that happens on accident, we'll just shove you back in, so you'll be in here for a while."

I glared at her menacingly, and looked around. The room looked exactly as it did in my dreams. Cold steel tiles covered the floor, and walls. On the ceiling was a giant chandelier, nearly touching my head. "You still haven't answered my question. Why do you keep coming after me in particular? I don't see any other protectors in this room."

Bris smirked, "That's not true, Sammy. Just look behind you. As for your question, you're the key to bringing our leader back, the breaker of darkness. If you do something special in this mansion, then he'll come back to life. We haven't found out what that thing is yet, but we know it involves you. The reason he's dead is because he risked his life damaging Sarah's eyes. It took all his power..."

She looked as if she was tearing up, and for a moment I felt sorry for her. Then I remembered what she has done to me, and my friends. I turned around as Bris asked, and saw another girl. She looked at me nervously, and smiled gently. "Hi, I'm Summer. The protector of the seasons. I guess Bris got you too, huh?"

"Summer sure was an unexpected twist! What is her backstory? Also, Sam had two friends with him as he became a protector (Max, Adri), who else will be a friend, and not a protector? What relationships will be going down in this book? Think about it!"
