Max and Adri had just arrived at the Breakers Mansion, after days of searching. From the outside, it looked like an average haunted house on steroids. They stepped forward, and thunder shook abruptly. The two friends flinched, but were determined to find Sam. They kept moving forward, to the mansion where reality has no meaning.
Before Sam, Adri, and Max had come into this crazy place, Max and Adri worked for someone else. They considered this man to be their teacher, their mentor. He had told them to find the one who is the darkness in the light, as well as the light in the darkness. When Max finds him, they can finally avenge Phoenix Mountain to its rightful owner. They went off, on a quest to find both the darkness, and the light. That's when they met and befriended Sam Stardust, immediately finding out about his powers, before he even told them.
When they entered the mansion, they were already too late. It was obvious that Sam had tried to escape, but had not succeeded. He was unconscious, with an unfamiliar girl dragging him to the doorway. She wasn't apart of the Breakers, or else Max would know about her, she must be a protector also imprisoned here. She saw Max and Adri, and jumped back. She clumsily got into a fighting position, shaking all over, "G-get back, Breakers! Before I came here, I learned karate, so you better step aside!"
Max smiled calmly as Adri took over the conversation. "We aren't Breakers, and we aren't here to hurt you. We're here to break you out of here." Adri explained. The girl didn't look trusting of Max, because she didn't stop eyeing him down. She relaxed a little, "If you're really here to help, prove it. Go get my friend, I'll keep guard of Sam," she held out her hand to Adri, "...the names Summer. What about you two?"
Max didn't stop smiling; he wanted to make her calm around him, in case she wanted to attack. "The names Max, and this is Adri. There are some things you need to know about us. We aren't protectors, but we have our own powers. We've been helping out the protectors, in a deal that they will protect Sam. Sam is very important to us, in ways beyond either of our powers." Max replied as gently as he could be.
"Now, you said you wanted us to get a friend of yours?" Max continued. Summer nodded, "Yes. She's in the basement of this mansion, and hurry!" Max tugged at Adri, and they raced through the house to find the basement.
Thankfully, Max and Adri never encountered any of the Breakers before they found the basement. With a deep breath, Max pulled the handle, and heard a muffled scream. Max concentrated, and his bright white glowing wings grew beside him. He shot down the passageway, on the search for the friend of the seasons.
Max landed nearby a cement room, darkness overflowing the surroundings. Max waved his hand upwards, and the door slid open with an annoying creak. A weak voice escaped out of the doorway, "Who's there? Please tell me it's some food, I've been starving all day." the voice complained. Max laughed quietly, and slowly walked inside. "You'll be getting food once I break you out of here. My name is Max, and I'm going to reunite you with your friend." he said.
"Good luck getting past us to do so, Blazen." said the devilish voice from behind Max. He turned around with a heavy sigh, and immediately regretted it. Bris stood there, in a cocky posture, with Travis and Cladis behind her. In front of her, lay a pitch black orb the size of a marble. He knew what those were, and what they did. If Max knew what was good for him, he would surrender, and walk away slowly. However, he didn't know what was good for him, and stayed quiet while Bris bragged about her success.
"You caught us off guard last time, Max, but not again. While you were flying off to find Amy, we found Adri trying to keep up with your unimaginable speed." Bris pouted, "We didn't want him to be left behind, so..." She made a puppy face in the direction of the black marble, "we brought him with us! Now, you get any closer, I smash this orb, taking Adri with it."
