"That's my name! Don't wear it out!" yelled Swordfish. I turned back to him, ready to fight.
He was an odd looking kid, looking a little like Adri. His skin was alien-like, the color of blood stained along his body. His hair was much shorter than Adri's, like what a military solider would look like. His grin looked like a cackle of pure terror, sending a shiver through my soul.
Under him, there were three unconscious bodies, lying on their stomachs. They wore crystal blue robes, hiding their faces. Swordfish grabbed the three bodies, and...
Uh oh.
Bris, Travis, and Cladis were asleep in the hands of the Sorcerer, beaten to a pulp. They had bruises littered across their skin, and what I saw made me wince. What the Breakers did to the Protectors was bad, but they didn't deserve this.
As much as you're going to hate it, we need the Breakers to come with us. They are the darkness in the light. Max's voice was all I heard inside of mind. His Sorcery powers will take some getting used to.
I prepared to throw the black hole, careful not to attack the Breakers, but Swordfish was quicker. He shot his hand in my direction, and a small water gun spray made me lose my focus. My black hole dissipated, and I was left soaking, at a loss from the power.
"Not so fast, Sammy! Take more step closer, and the Breakers die! I know you need them to revive Phoenix, and I won't allow it! When someone dies by my hand, they don't come back!" he screamed.
Don't attack, Sam, let me handle this. I killed him once, I can do it again. I heard Max say in my mind. I took a couple steps back, and I saw Swordfish grin. As much as I didn't want to, I was letting Max lead.
He took a deep breath, and smiled calmly, "Swordfish, you know you have no chance. You were only able to defeat Phoenix out of luck. You're a coward. Just give up now, and I'll spare you the humiliation of killing you a second time." Max said.
Swordfish took a step back, obviously intimidated. "N-no! That's not true! I'm far more powerful than you and Adri combined, and you know it!"
Max had the situation at hand now, and I knew it. "If that's so, then prove it. Adri, head out there." he replied. Adri grinned, and hopped off the balcony, 20 feet from Swordfish. Swordfish scrambled a sword the size of me out of his sheath, and dug the blade to the Breakers' necks. He shot his other hand upward, and Adri went flying back to the balcony.
Swordfish looked like his emotions were scrambled; his facial expression jumping from confident to scared to threatening. He dug the blade deeper, and we all took a step back. Except for Adri, who dissipated into nothingness.
Swordfish kept talking, trying to keep this going as long as he wanted, "I knew Adri was a mirage the whole time, you think I can't see through that?" he nearly screamed.
I have an idea, but you have to trust me. Max said in my mind. Quickly, I nodded my head, and he grinned. Hold on... He said. As soon as I heard his last thought, I was asleep.
When I saw the light of day again, I was in the forest nearby the Protectors mansion. I could see that Swordfish was right in front of me, and the mansion was in my sight. Up there, just like before, I saw Sarah, Summer, Terra, Lux, Father Time, Max, and... me? I saw myself at the balcony, standing still, and staring into space as Swordfish rambled on and on about capturing the Breakers. Max and the others noticed me, and quickly ignored my duplicate presence.
I snuck quietly up to Swordfish, and levitated slightly, making me taller than him. I tried to conjure a black hole, but something very different happened. I became a star.
Swordfish to around to see me: a blinding sun. I grinned devilishly, and tackled myself into him.
Right as I made contact with him, he went flying into the balcony. Right next to the protectors. I smiled, and thought Have fun with that, and I hope your couple days of afterlife were fun.
I'm not going to describe what happened in those couple minutes. Let's just say that what happens on the balcony stays on the balcony. Swordfish was never seen again after that day.
I levitated up to the balcony as Adri's mirage appeared once again. He yawned, "Did we win? I couldn't see what was going on from the inside of Max's pocket." I smirked, "Yeah, we won. I don't think we'll be seeing Swordfish anytime soon."
Max teleported the Breakers to the balcony, and lifted each one into the air. Luckily, they were asleep, so they didn't try to attack. "They're coming with us to Phoenix Mountain. We need them to revive Phoenix. Without him, we stand no chance of defeating the Crimson Dragon."
I groaned, "Just how powerful is the Crimson Dragon? If Swordfish was a junior commander, then I don't think it will be too hard."
Max's expression hardened, and he glared at me. "The only reason that Swordfish was able to become junior commander was because he was a popular spellmaker in the Dragon Tribe. That was it, he isn't powerful in the slightest. Imagine Sorcerers three times as powerful as Swordfish, and imagine hundreds of thousands of those Sorcerers at Sebastian's disposal." Max replied. "The Crimson Dragon is no mere joke. Adri, Hanna and I have been gathering as many powerful groups, teams, and solo acts we can find that have unbelievable skills. Now, everyone except for Father Time needs to come with me, and head to Phoenix Mountain. Father Time needs to stay behind and bring the mansion. Everybody, huddle up to me."
We all crowded around Max, and took a deep breath. Once we all locked hands, the world swirled away as we teleported to Phoenix Mountain.
