Chapter 10

Leighlah's POV:

It was another week before I was released from the hospital wing, and I had never been so happy to go. It was so boring in there. Severus visited daily, and Dumbledore once in awhile. The day before I left, Dumbledore stopped by to tell me what would be happening once I got out of the hospital wing. 

"When you leave, I want you to go straight to the great hall. There, you will be sorted into one of the four houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. Your house will be like your home for the next seven years." He explained. "You will sleep in your house dorm, have classes with your housemates, and live in the house common room. The teachers have been notified that you will be coming to class not tomorrow, but the next day. That way you can get used to Hogwarts, and possibly explore a bit. I must caution you though. Do not open the door on the third floor corridor, unless you want to die a most painful death."

It took awhile to take all that in, but I eventually got it. I would leave tomorrow morning, and go to the great hall to be sorted. I would not have classes until the day after.

"I will leave you to your thoughts. This must be a lot to take in, so I'll go. See you tomorrow morning!" He told me.

On his way out, Severus came in.

"How are you feeling?" He asked in the monotone voice of his.

Ok. I replied. He knew I couldn't talk, and he was fine with me talking in his head. I'm a bit tired though.

We had gotten to know eachother really well. I actually considered him the father figure I never had.

"Ok." He told me. "I will stay here until you fall asleep."

Could you possibly stay longer? I don't want to be alone. I asked shyly.

"You know I have class to go to, Leighlah. But I guess I could have Dumbledore cover for my last class." He replied. "I'll ask now." He pulled out his wand, and said Expecto Patronum. A silvery doe erupted out of his wand, and he spoke to it. "Could you cover my last class for today? I will be in here with Leighlah." He told it. "I will most likely be staying the night." He finished the message, and told it to go to Dumbledore.

Less than 10 seconds later, a phoenix patronus came in through the window. In the headmaster's calm voice, it said, "Sure! I will be heading down there now. Have a good sleep tonight."

I moved over so Severus could slide into the bed beside me, and curled up into his chest. He stroked my hair, and soon I felt myself falling asleep.

When I woke up the next morning, sunlight was streaming in through the window. I could feel Severus' arms around me, as he was still asleep. I rolled over, and curled back up into his chest. He chuckled, and started to stroke my hair again.

I thought you were still asleep? What time is it? I asked.

"Right now, It is about 7:00 in the morning. We don't actually have to get up for another hour, and then we go to breakfast. If you want to go now, we can, but otherwise, you can go back to sleep. What do you say?" Severus said

let's go back to sleep. I'm still tired. I replied

"Ok." He said. And with that we fell back asleep.

We woke up an hour later to Poppy screaming for us to get up, and get down to the great hall. I got my robes on, and grabbed my wand, and headed down to the great hall for breakfast. i was in so much of a hurry that I forgot that I would be sorted today. I had just entered the hall, before dumbledore walked up behind me and tapped on my shoulder. I must have jumped at least 3 feet in the air, because I landed on the floor instead of the bench. Dumbledore was bent over laughing his butt off! It was totally not funny.
