Last one for tonight, I promise.
"The things flying around up there are keys. The one you need to find is a big brass one, just like the door. It will probably have a broken wing too." Hermione said, looking up at the keys.
Harry nodded, and flew off in search of the right key. He let out a cry of victory when he saw it, but the moment of happiness was gone when all of the keys started to follow him. Hermione, Ron and I all ran over to the door so we could open it once Harry got the key. It took a couple minutes, but he eventually did, and we were able to jam it in the lock and open the door. We shut it quickly once we were all into the next room. It was a gigantic room, that had a gigantic chess set placed in the middle. All four of us walked across the chessboard, in attempt to go to the next room. We didn't even make it off of the board. The white chess pieces blocked our way, and forced us to stay on the board. We backed up, and then looked at the black pieces that were sitting there.
"I guess we have to play our way across." Harry said, pointing toward the black pieces. Ron nodded, and started directing us to take the place of a few of the pieces. I got to be queen, but only because I already had a broken arm, and I didn't need anything else broken.
"Is this going to be like wizard's chess?" Harry questioned, looking kind of scared.
Ron directed a pawn forward. The white pieces smashed it to the ground.
"Yes. Exactly like wizard's chess." Ron managed weakly.
We played across the board, with as many, if not more of our pieces being taken. Ron directing the pieces where to go, and was being super careful not to put us in a place where we would be injured. He was succeeding until the end of the game.
"If I am taken it, it leaves you free to checkmate the king Harry" He said, face going white.
"Ron, No! I will not allow you to do that! We'll find another way!" Harry said, a look of worry on his face.
"It's the only way! I have to do this!" Ron shouted back. He didn't even wait for us to argue.
"Knight to H6" He said, his face looking kind of green. The horse he was on started to move forward slowly. When it stopped, Ron braced himself for impact. The bishop took his sword, and swiped it across the head of the horse, knocking Ron off with it. He fell in a heap off to the side of the board, blood quickly staining his shirt.
"Ron!" Hermione yelled, starting to run over to him.
"Hermione! Stop!" Harry yelled, worry still evident in his features. Hermione immediately stopped running. "We are still playing the game! Let me checkmate the king, and then you can go help him."
She nodded, and Harry started slowly walking forward toward the king. "Checkmate." He said. That one word echoed throughout the room. The sword dropped from the king's hands, and fell to the ground with a thud.
"The game's over" Harry said, facing the king's chess piece.
Hermione wasn't paying attention. She was already over by Ron, checking to make sure that he had a pulse. When she found one, she let out a breath, and turned to Harry and I.
"You guys go on ahead to the next room. I'm going to stay here with Ron." She said, before turning back to him.
Harry nodded, and beckoned me toward the door out. I left my spot as the queen, and went to join Harry by the door. He pushed open the door, and immediately a horrible smell filled my nose. In the middle of the room was a gigantic troll, laying knocked out in the middle of the room. It looked bigger than the one that was in the bathroom!
