I woke up in a sweat and the feeling of someone staring at me, before feeling it thrusting my head back into my pillow.
I felt myself choking as it stared at me with its gleaming red eyes, I felt my scream lodge itself in my throat as it shushed me the stroke of its sharp nails across my lips.
"Shhh, child." it said as it loosened its grip on my head and got itself off of my bed, dusting itself off with it's frail hands.
I froze in my position as it paced around my room, keeping its eyes locked onto mine, like a predator stalking its prey.
I clutched Lion as I shut my eyes, the clicking of the phantom's feet getting louder and louder the more I shut my eyes.
"Please don't fear me... Please! I have no intention to hurt you!"
I opened my eyes to see the figure letting itself sit by me in my mattress, and hanging its head low.
And for the first time since coming into this house, I felt no fear.
I felt myself raise myself off of my laying position on my bed and resting my hand on its shoulder.
It looked at me with its previously striking eyes, the red softening in colour as it looked at me with despair.
"What's wrong? Can you tell me?"
His lips raised themselves a bit to form a smile and he turned to face me fully.
"That's the first time someone has ever asked me and cared about my feelings."
I gave him a small smile as I let my hand slide back onto my lap.
"My name is Harrison, and what's your name?"
"Philip."
