December 24th 1997

This was our third and last year celebrating Christmas in the house we've inhabited for part of mine and Martyn's childhood.

Martyn sat unamused on his mobile phone which I've grown jealous of as he played snake and the beeps that came from every point echoed through the small speakers as he furiously clicked on the keypads to guide the dashed lines around the insides of the barriers that trapped the 'snake'.

Harrison sat by me on the chair that wavered from his motion and he smiled.

After first meeting him three years ago after moving in, somehow, his gleaming red eyes still did intimidate me quite a bit.

I have been communicating with him through my ouija board I received from a friend years before we moved here, but I never really realised that Harrison was what was hidden in my board the whole time.

He had seemingly possessed the house since we moved , which he explained in while he told me stories his journey through the spirit dimension and the real world, which I surprisingly understood and a moderately young age.

"So Philip, any plans before the new year?" That's where my heart stopped, my family had decided the leave the house before the new year due to some family issues and their change of work which will cause us to move into London, the big city.

I shuddered as I thought of Harrison's possible reactions to the news I had to break to him in a moment.

For three years he had protected me from any evil that had encountered my path and he promised he would keep doing so, that is if I never left him.

I gulped and leaned in a bit.

"Harrison, I'm moving before the new year." I saw his posture stiffen up, he diverted his gaze and viewed the scenery that consisted of boxes filled with our belongings, the only thing standing was the Christmas tree with the presents that lay underneath the green bristles of the plastic tree.

He stared at me, his eyes seemingly firing up with fury.

"You promised you'd never leave me Phil, why are you doing this?"

I gulped and shook my head before he proceeded to stand up and keep his stare on me as I sat, head hung low and silent.

He finally stopped pacing around and bent down to whisper in my ear, "I will be sure to get rid of anyone who has any relations with you. I'll promise you that. Twenty years from now."

I froze and watched him fade into nothingness, I excused myself from the table to use the restroom in which my parents questioned slightly but let me off anyways, Martyn still playing Snake on his mobile.

I ran up the stairs and reached under my bed to grab the black box I had the board contained in and I sneaked past the dining room before letting myself outside and going far beyond the boundaries of our garden.

I looked around me and saw the tiny light that shone from the dining room and I hurriedly dug a hole in the dirt and placing the box inside.

I felt some hands turn me around and Harrison stood there, his skin seemingly having a newfound glow to it, the cracks in his skin revealing the lava like fluid that flowed through.

He sighed and bent down to cover the box with the dirt and he stood back up to his normal height, facing me once more before placing the tip of his finger on my head and a sharp pain struck through my body as he shut his eyes tightly and held my head in his other hand.

"You won't remember a thing, but I promise you, it will still happen in 20 years."

Then, there was darkness and I arrived back into my room, confused and lost.

I walked back down and faced my parents that glanced at me for a second before turning back and eating.

I sat myself down and Martyn stared me down before flinging a pea at my face which he got scolded for by my mum.

I sat pondering in my seat as I circled the mashed potatoes with my fork.

Why was I in my room again?
