~Laura~
I awaited for Ash's response, he hadn't said anything so far. There had just been an awkward silence in the room.
"Ash please say something." I sighed, i wanted to know what he thought about all of this. He needed to speak up.
"I don't know what to say Laura..." He spoke, it was so quiet it was more of a whisper.
"Are you mad at me? Please don't be mad at me!? Don't leave me... Please don't leave me ash..." I began.
"I'm not going to leave you Laura, I'm not. Mad at you? I could never be mad at you, besides it's not your fault, none of this is. I understand, but i just don't know how to react, i just guess i'm overwhelmed, i wasn't expecting this. But it doesn't change anything between us and thank you for telling me Laura." He replied. I was relieved when i heard that, things were resolved, almost... Now i had to get rid of the whole marriage problem, the debt. Thats what this was about all along, it was the problem all along. And i didn't have the power to do anything about it, at least not on my own. I was thankful that the ones closest to me were now aware of my situation, it helped knowing that they somewhat understood.
"How much is the debt?" Ash asked me.
"A lot, I mean a lot Ash... Thousands of pounds. Why are you asking?" I responded.
"If I pay the debt then you won't have to marry Luke." Ash began. No, this wasn't fair. It wasn't his debt to pay. And besides my parents have already signed a contract with Luke's parents declaring that my marriage to Luke will wipe off the debt completely and there is no other form of payment.
"It's not your debt to pay Ash." I pointed out. It was true, I had to say it. I felt ungrateful, but I couldn't take his money, i didn't deserve it. He doesn't deserve this, me... Having to pay off some debt because of my stupid family, i do not condone this.
"Yes, but it will mean no more barriers in our relationship from the outside. And it's a price worth paying if I can have you in my life." He exclaimed, that was so sweet... It was cute, he was cute, adorable, whatever... I still wasn't agreeing on it though, i'm stubborn like this.
"Good reasoning Ash, but I mean it. Besides they probably won't accept that as a payment, they signed a contract." I explained.
"Every contract has a small print." Ash pointed out. True, most of the time... But i'm pretty sure it wasn't the case this time. I had to marry Luke, there was nothing more to discuss about it. I was defying my parents, going against the whole thing but i don't seem to be succeeding.
"Ash look... You can't pay this off i'm sorry. It's something i'll have to resolve myself with Luke." I told him, his jaw locked.
"I don't like you with him, i've seen what he's like with you. I don't want you to be the next girl who's heartbroken over him." So Ash was getting possessive, how sweet? And Georgia was just sat here listening to our whole conversation...
"Do you not trust me?" I asked him, it appeared that he didn't... I felt like he didn't by what he had just said.
"It's not you i don't trust, it's him." Ash claimed. But i can handle myself around Luke anyway, nothing would happen between us. We're not like that, we're not intimate and i hope it stays that way even if we do somehow end up marrying each other.
"Ok Ash." I just said it to agree with him. I didn't want to argue, I didn't want to fight. I didn't want to fall out over something so little, so petty...
"Look Laura, i'm gonna have to go... I don't feel too good either, I think I have a fever and I feel really tired." He told me.
"Oh ok... See you later I guess?" I murmured, he gave me a small, gentle kiss.
"Yes you will see me later." He told me, grinning. He then turned to face Georgia, "Thank you for letting me come round Georgia and i'll see you soon!" He added.
"Sure, no problem anytime." She smiled.
Ash then waved before heading out of Georgia's house.
"You two are so cute together, made for each other! I'm on team Ash, not team Luke. I hope you can work things out somehow!" Georgia blurted.
"Me too." I sighed.
"There's always a way Laura. Just stay positive it will all work out one way or another." Georgia pointed out. She was right, things would play or one way or another. I was just hoping that I could end up with Ash and not Luke.
"Yeah." I muttered,i didn't want to seem rude by not responding. Georgia than began squealing whilst gazing at her phone screen, umm!?
"What's that all about?" I asked her.
"Ethan just told me that he likes me and asked me out on a date... Thank you laura, thank you so much! It would of never happened if it wasn't for you! I owe you big time." She exclaimed, i felt as if she was overreacting. Saying that she's liked Ethan for a long time. It felt wrong though, like Ethan was well known for his reputation, he was Luke's side guy. He was just as bad as Luke, if not worse and i didn't want to see my best friend hurt by him. But saying that, Luke had stuck to his side of the deal, he had done as i requested. It showed that he wasn't actually that bad, i really did appreciate what he had done, how he had done this for me... I just hope it would end well and not in tears, if it doesn't end well, I'll be going straight after Ethan then Luke.
