Against my arranged marriage.

chapter five - double family dinner.

I went home that night, thinking about what to do if Luke knows about the marriage thing, but he would've found out sooner or later anyway? It's just his reaction what i'm worried about, and how all of the girls who are obsessed with him, will act towards me...

As soon as i got in the front door tonight, i was told that we're going out for a family dinner with the carter family, about mine and Luke's marriage thing, so we can get to know each other better. I thought to myself, i don't need to get to know Luke better, he's a jerk.. What else more is there to know about him?

I didn't want to go to this dinner, but i had no choice in the matter, i was practically forced to go, whether i liked it or not. I thought it was up to me, what i do with my life as an individual.. i guess i was wrong? But there's always divorce as an option, and option i'll be eager to carry out with, because it's not like me and Luke would ever work anyway.

My mother, is forcing me to look beautiful tonight, just so that Luke will find me attractive, i really wanted to ask my mum if Luke knows about the marriage thing, but i guess i didn't feel like the timing of the moment  was right.

I saw the clothes which were laid out on my bed for me, it was this tight black dress... i don't like it, it's too revealing. That wasn't the worst part, the worst part was that i had to wear makeup, lots of it.. i prefered it when i didn't wear makeup, i look so fake now.

We don't have a car, so we had to wait for Luke's family to collect and take us out for the meal, i waited in my room alone, i didn't want to wait with them downstairs.

The front door knocked, Yeah their here.

"Laura!" My mum called me, ugh i hate my life at the moment, wait no my lifes fine it's just the fact about forcibly marrying Luke!

I sighed, and walked downstairs.. Luke was in my house, in the living room, well i hope he doesn't make himself too comfy, because he's no welcomed here.

Luke looks up and down at me, he's stunned.. i hate it when people look up and down at me, it's like they're looking down at you? Whether Lukes admiring me, i ignore his good looks, and he escorts me out, by wrapping his arm around mine. I didn't know this was part of it, I wanted to push him away, but it was so much easier just to go along with it.

We got into Lukes family's flash car, and drive to the resturant. I didn't talk to Luke, not for the whole journey, it was really awkward, i just looked down at the floor for the whole car journey.

We pulled up outside a posh, five star resturant, i take it my parents aren't paying for this, they don't have enough money to even afford a drink in this place.

I walked into the resturant and took a seat, Luke sat next to me.. Why is he sitting next to me? Go away.

My parents, and Luke's parents sat opposite to each other, they begin talking and stuff, probaby about the marriage thing which has nothing to do with me, yet i'm being dragged into it anyway.

I picked up a menu and sighed, before deciding what to order..

"So what are you ordering Laura?" Luke asked me, i think he's trying to make a conversation to relieve the awkwardness, but it's not working. No it's just making the situation even more awkward, than it previously was.

"Oh i don't know yet, i just can't seem to decide. There seems to be so much to choose from? What are you ordering?" I acted, and pretending to be fake, then made an actual conversation with him... it doesn't bother me, but i know that he's going to continue to mock me and Ash when we get back to school..

"I'm getting the steak house special. It's really nice, i get it every time i come here, i think you should try it?" he suggested, nah.

"No i was thinking more of something bacon, i love bacon!" I blurted, i said bacon, because he suggested steak.. just to be awkward.

"Oh there's a section on cooked ham in here, look i'll show you." He told me, whilst taking my menu and flickign through he pages, then i passed it back to me.

"Thanks," i didn't know what else to say? I don't mind this side of Luke, he's not so much of a jerk, no he's making an effort and seems so much nicer, than what he's like to when we're at school. Schoool changes people, people are different at school than to what they are when they're at home. 

"Lets make a toast." my mum annouced, a toast to what? a friendship? I know it's not that.. i just don't want to be humilitaed if they're toasting about mine and Luke's marriage thing. Well Luke hasn't proposed to me yet, so i could still date someone else if i wanted to, i can basically do what i want.

"A toast to what?" Luke frowned, he was confused, really confused.. wait he doesn't know?

"You haven't told him?" My mum asked Luke's parents,

"No.. we didn't know when to tell him ,we didn't know when the time was right.. Luke he's just been so hard to deal with lately." His mum stuttered,

"Tell me what?" Luke was slightly getting annoyed i could tell by the tone of his voice,

"Luke son.. you're getting married to Laura." His dad told me.

Luke pulled his chair out, pushed it over onto the floor out of anger and stormed away from the table, out of the resturant..within ten seconds of being told that he's marrying me... he was gone.

A/N

cliffhanger sorta, sorry :/. I just didn't have anything else to write for this chapter, but i made it longer than i planned. This book is doing well for a new book :) i'm happy with it. Unedited, i suck at grammar and stuff, so sorry about that.

Next update, within this week somewhen, don't know when though.
