Chapter sixteen - Back to your old ways...

"You should talk to him." Georgia told me.

"I don't want to!" I responded. Currently, Georgia was going on about how i should talk to Luke. I didn't want to talk to him, i certainly didn't want to message him. But she wouldn't stop going on about him.

"He's a good looking guy Laura, he's different around you." Georgia pointed out.

"Only because he has to be. His parents are probably forcing him to marry me, like mine are forcing me to marry him." I explained.

"Well it could be a whole lot worse!" Georgia exclaimed.

"And it could be a whole lot better!" I challenged her. She just shrugged.

"Have you spoken to Ash yet?" Georgia asked me.

"No." I responded.

"You need to! It's been like a month now." She told me.

"I'm afraid that i have feelings for him Georgia, i'm already rebelling enough by running away. I would betraying my parents completely if i ended up with Ash. And as much as I hate to say it, i'd hate to see thing without anything... But i still don't want to marry Luke, he's not that one that I want to be with, see it's a tricky situation." I explained.

"Follow your heart Laura. Regardless to what you choose, your parents will survive somehow." She told me. Easy for her to say, she's not the one in the situation. If she was she would marry Luke without a second thought, i knew she would.

"I don't know what my heart wants..."

"Well if you get with Luke, you could help me... We could double date. You know, me and Ethan. You and Luke?" She suggested, she still has a thing for Ethan... I see.

I never spoke to any of my friends anymore except from Georgia. I hardly saw Vicky, she was in none of my lessons. Sure i would see her round school, i would walk around with her, we would make small talk but that was about it. Alex; I had Math's with her. That was about it, except from that. I never saw the girl or spoke to her. And me and Ash, well we're still not on talking terms. It's just so awkward.

I snapped back into reality too see Georgia staring at me... Oh she's waiting for me to respond to what she had previous said...

"I will try and get Luke to put a word in. No promises." I told her, it was just to get her off my back.

"Thank you." She smiled.

I was still staying at Georgia's, this was night four. I knew it couldn't last forever and it frightened me a lot. Georgia's house was fantastic, it was luxurious. It was so much better than my poxy house, the truth is i didn't want to return back to that household. Georgia's mum is so nice to me, I'd happily swap her for my mother any day.

Once again, a late night on a school night. Tomorrow morning was going to be difficult, i already knew that.

But could you blame me? I had something quite traumatic happen to me today.

I woke up for school, i was unsure to whether i wanted to attend. I guess it depended on how many people knew about the kidnapping, i didn't people making a massive fuss over it. Saying that, i couldn't avoid school forever. I had to face my inner demons, i had to attend school. I'm more than likely overreacting, nothing much will probably happen anyways

I didn't take too long to get ready, only about 20-25 minutes. Georgia however, she was taking a long while. She was applying a lot of making, curling her hair. She really was making an effort today, a lot more than usual. It made me raise suspicion a little.

By the time Georgia was ready, we had practically ran out of time. Basically we needed to leave now and speed to school it we had any chance of making it on time.

Georgia grabbed her handbag and got into the car, i followed her and on the way i thanked Georgia's mum for letting me stay once again. She assured me that it was fine and that she didn't have a problem with it , so how come
I felt so unconvinced?

We drove to school at a steady speed, in fact we just about made it on time.

First lesson i had was Physics and i have to sit next to Ash, this should be an interesting lesson... He probably won't pay much attention to me.

I took a long stroll to physics, i walked at an average pace. I knew that physics was difficult,i always saw in there people finishing their exams early/coursework earlier than i did. It was typical really, i spent loads of time and effort and i come out with a C, it wasn't too good, well i wasn't impressed anyway. When i revised with Ash, I used to get A's. I just needed to break the tension with him, not because of this... Just about everything in general.

"Ash are you annoyed with me?" It was more of a whisper.

"No." He bluntly replied.

"You haven't been talking to me." I pointed out.

"And? You haven't been talking to me either." He folded his arms, oh so he's going to be like this...

I just didn't say anything, i wasn't going to respond, if this was how he was going to be, if this was how he was going to play it, then fine. Two can play that game.

Luke came into lesson ten minutes late, he was with Ethan. I saw Georgia look up from the corner, she was staring at Ethan dreamfully, seriously?

Luke took sat in the spare seat next to me.

"So what's going on here? between you two." He questioned me, Ash didn't respond to what Luke had just said. Instead, he continued to stare into space.

"Nothing Luke, we're just... friends." The truth was, i didn't know whether we were friends anymore.

"Really? I never knew friends kissed." He raised an eyebrow, like he's never kissed a friend... He's a well-known player! He also got Ash's attention, he was now interested and was acting as if he was involved in the conversation.

"How do you know about that?" I asked him, confused.

"I know everything Laura... And does he know about the arrangement our families have?" He referred to Ashley. By this point, the whole class was silent, everyone was tuning into our conversation. God no, this can't be happening.

"Please luke." I was so hopeless, so useless. He had won, he had got what he wanted. He had made a fool out of me, and now i was practically begging for him to have pity on me in front of everyone.

"You better watch your back Ash." Luke warned him before storming out if the classroom. Everyone was staring, and was the worst part actually. Because now people would be questioning me about this for the whole day, and I too would be centre attention along with Luke.

Sorry for the delayed update, i've had mock exams all this week. Also this is one of the harder books of mine that I'm writing, I struggle to find ideas to write, so bare with me.

Short, unedited. Honestly, I haven't even read this chapter through yet. I was more focused on the content and actually updating. So beware of my mistakes&typos.
