“I don’t think we should be up here.” Elijah said as Emberlynne shuffled through the old boxes. Emberlynne had chosen to spend their next date in the attic. Elijah had suggested a walk in the woods, or even just listening to music but Emmy insisted they raid the attic. She hadn’t been up there in a while but she knew last time she found something important but she just couldn’t remember what. It was funny how lately she had been getting blank spots in her memory.

“I don’t know what it was but I’m pretty sure there was something up here I needed.”  Emmy repeated for like the twelfth time. Elijah rolled his eyes as he petted Orion who was snuggled comfortably in his arms. Emmy had a feeling she was forgetting something and she thought the best place to find memories are where they’re stored.  She went over to the far West corner of the attic.

“Last time I was up here, there was something important right here. Like boxes or something…” She murmured.

“Maybe they got moved, we’re really not supposed to be up here any way.” Elijah said.

“Oh, since when do you follow rules?” She asked him suspiciously. He seemed to be in a hurry to leave.

“I don’t but I do have something planned for us tonight,” He said.

“Like what?” She asked as she walked around a little checking the tittles on the boxes.

“It’s a surprise,” He shrugged.

“Eh,” Was all Emmy could mutter at the time; being preoccupied with a box that caught her interest. She tucked her black curtain of hair behind her ear as she opened it.

“What’s in it?” Elijah asked.

“Dresses…” Emmy mumbled holding up a crème colored Cinderella type strapless dress. Its hem wouldn’t ever dream of reaching Emmy knees. The bottom half was a ruffled silky material. The top half was beaded with shiny sequins and jewels that made vague flower patterns.

“Looks about your size…”

“You want me to try it on!?” Emmy said staring at Elijah in disbelief. Elijah shrugged. Emmy gave the dress another look over.

“It’s more of a small piece of cloth then a dress.”

“Just try it on, it’ll look nice on you,” He prodded. She rolled her eyes at him then read the side of the box.

“I don’t think there are any patients named Emilia so this is probably some old stuff. Vintage.” She stood and proceeded to undress. She started with her school shirt. Elijah shielded Orion’s eyes.

“I didn’t bring any singles soo…”

“I am not a stripper!” Emmy laughed while slipping out of her tight skirt.

“Don’t strippers take master cards these days?” Elijah asked but Emmy rolled her eyes in response. She flicked him in his forehead before turning around and asking:

“Help me zip up this dress.” He let Orion down and obeyed. When he was done she spun around and faced him.

“How do I look?”

“I always hated this dress,” Emilia complained.

“I definitely like it,” Elijah murmured tugging on the super short hem. Emilia playfully smacked his hand away.

“So why do you have to stay with us any way? I thought you were supposed to be prancing around with Father,” Elijah said referring to Emilia’s dad whom the mental kids called Father.
