We made it to the bottom of the volcano in less time than I'd imagined. Should volcanoes even have bottoms? I thought they were holes leading to the centre of the planet. I don't know if it even was the bottom but even so, we found the demon. It wasn't quite as big as it had been from the control room but maybe it was closer up than it had been.

Natsu didn't hesitate but leapt forwards, shouting at the top of his voice, fists engulfed in flames. The demon turned and spat a reasonably small stream of lava, as small as lava streams go. He went to eat the flames but found he couldn't and fell to the floor, holding his tongue and probably saying it hurt. I couldn't hear. There was something wrong with the demon. Its particles kept on changing, bigger then smaller, bigger then smaller. I was concentrating so hard on it that I nearly missed the tail. Apparently it had a tail. A large, scaly, chunky tail with spikes embedded in the top which continued up its spine.

"Wren"

I turned to where Wendy was and only just ducked, feeling the tail swipe the air over my head. Lucy had summoned a spirit: not the bull but a man with a scorpion tail which fired sand. Grey was... throwing something made of ice. Erza was dressed in her Lightening Empress armour, her red hair braided tightly and Wendy, grinned at me and then inhaled, spitting out a strong gust of wind. I put my hand to my side and a sword formed, glowed purple for just a second and then flashed, turning into metal.

"Demon Slayer" I whispered to it, looking like a lunatic, and jumped forwards, slashing it out to the side. The demon howled for a second, green blood gushing from the wound, and then healed itself. I started to drop, concentrating too hard on getting ready to keep my balance, so didn't see its huge claw hand. It swiped at me and I flew backwards, hitting the volcanic rock hard. Pain flooded through my back and black spots clouded my vision.
