"Louis, Honey, come here for a minute!" Louis' mother calls out from her large room, smoothing out the new dress she had bought Louis. She didn't have a problem that Louis dressed like a girl, in fact she loved it—he always looked so pretty when he was wearing his feathery dresses. The petite boy comes running down the hallway and into his mothers room, a large smile on his face."Yes, mummy?" He asks politely, rocking back and fourth on his heels while his hands are clasped behind his back, bottom lip in between teeth. His eyes trail over to the lovely dress that's laid out on his mothers' bed, making a sound of approval in the back of his throat. His mum beckons Louis to sit on the bed with a wave of her hand, the boy doing so.
"We are having a little party tomorrow night and I decided to buy you a new dress, darling." She informs Louis who squeals, hugging his mother and shouting out thank you's. He pulls back from the embrace and picks up the innocent, plain blue dress, wide doe eyes admiring every inch of it.
"I love it." He whispers out, small hands reaching out shakily and gripping the smooth material in between his fingers. Louis looks up from the dress and sees his mum looking at him with a soft smile, adoration in her eyes. "Who did you invite?" He asks, fixing his necklace that was hanging perfectly on his collarbone.
Johanna looks up in thought, placing a finger on her chin and tapping slowly. "I mean, everyone really. The whole village." She tells Louis' who beams. "There will be people we've never invited before, but that doesn't mean that you can't be nice to them, darling. Every guest of ours is practically family." Louis nods.
"So, Niall can come?" He asks hopefully, and his mother laughs at that, placing her hand on her stomach. Johannas' laugh was always Louis' favorite because it made him feel safe—made him feel at home, really. When he was younger, he had his mothers' laugh recorded on this device and whenever he felt homesick and whatnot, he would play it and the feeling would go away.
"Louis, you know our family loves Niall—especially Fizzy, oh my, she has such a massive crush on that boy," She shakes her head with a smile. Honestly, it wouldn't even bother her if they ended up dating because Niall was such a sweet hearted boy, one of the best friends Louis could ever have. "Niall can come over any time he wants to sweetie, not just the parties." She reassures him.
Louis smiles at that. Niall has always been his best friend since day one when they met at kindergarten, ending up fighting over crayons. You see, it was coloring time and Louis was the first one to get the big box, Niall getting mad and stomping over to him, slapping the box out of his hands so the crayons would spill all over the floor. He had to pick them up, after that.
"Mummy, can I go over to Nialls house so we can play?" Louis asks timidly, afraid his mother would decline but she doesn't, nodding her head in approval. Niall only lived about a block away, and Louis always went through the trail that nobody knew about. He always had found bunnies and stray kittens, which were his favorite animals.
"Be careful though, darling. And make sure to put on those shoes I bought you last month, they're quite cute if I say so myself." Jay replies after Louis gives her a sweet kiss on the cheek, skipping out of his mothers room and to the main entrance of their home. He looks down at his shoe collection, picking out the baby blue ones his mother was just talking about.
He walks out of the house and down the peaceful village, immediately spotting the forest where his trail was located. Louis hums to himself while making his way through the trees, gasping and stopping immediately when he sees a bunny sitting still. He gets down on his knees, dirtying his white high knee socks from the dirt, crawling towards the fluffy animal.
"Come here, little baby." He coos, thinking that the bunny will just crawl towards him and lay in his hands. He pouts a little when it doesn't do anything, looking like a statute. He moves a little closer, careful not to scare the poor little creature away. But, once he's about five inches away, the bunny bolts, running away deep into the forest.
Louis humphs, crossing his arms like a child. He perks up when he hears a low chuckle coming from behind him, instantly scrambling up on his feet and looking around, fumbling with the end of his dress and biting his lip out of habit. "H—hello?" He calls out, hearing his own voice echo. Nothing. No reply or anything, just the sound of his breaths coming out short.
Louis decides that he's just imagining things, that there isn't anybody here—because, well, this was his trail that nobody knew about. So he wipes off the dirt from his knee socks, bending over in the process with no knowledge that someone was looking at him with a devilish smirk on his face. Louis makes his way down the forest again, not even stopping when he sees another bunny because he knows that will just slow him down.
When he makes it to Nialls' house, he knocks on the oakwood door three times, Niall answering the door with pajamas on. Louis giggles at the dinosaur pattern that's spread around on the sleeping material, holding a hand up to his mouth to control his small laughs. "Hello, Niall." He greets, getting on his tippy toes and kissing him on the cheek.
Niall smiles lazily, rubbing his his tired eyes with his fists while a small blush rushes through his cheeks. "Hi, Lou. What'd you come over here for?" The fake blonde yawns after his sentence. Louis laughs at that, making his way in the cozy house and settling himself on the couch.
"I wanted to tell you that my mummy is having another party and you're invited!" He squeals, jumping up and down on the couch and making way for Niall to sit next to him too. He places his shoe covered feet on Nialls' lap, placing his head on the armrest and squinting at his friend.
"Another one? Well, I'm not surprised. But, aren't I always invited to them?" Niall questions, carefully taking off Louis' blue shoes and placing them on the ground, snatching up the tv remote after and turning it on, watching as the screen lights up and shows the main menu of The Beauty And The Beast movie.
"She said that she's inviting everyone from the village." Louis tells him, eyes gleaming with joy when Niall presses play, watching as the movie starts off. Louis thinks that he's watched this move about a hundred times now. He loves the way she falls in love with a beast, their differences not even ending their true love. Louis wishes something like that would happen to him.
"Oh?" Niall questions, resting his hands on Louis' legs, gently feeling the smooth skin underneath his palms since it's no doubt that the small boy shaves his legs. Louis giggles, saying "it tickles" over and over again until Niall takes his hands away.
"Yeah! Maybe now I'll get to meet The Mad Hatter that everyone talks about." Louis smiles and Nialls' heart drops.
NOTE: next chapter is probably the party ;) by the way louis is eighteen in this book while harry is twenty three.
