Louis enters the house slowly, being sure to make as little noise as possible because he didn't really want to talk to his mother right now. Once he shuts the front door behind him, he lets out a small sigh of relief, pressing his back to the wall next to him. He continues to gradually creep into the living room but stops abruptly when he sees his mum sitting on one of the couches while sipping her wine."Hello Louis, did you have fun hanging out with Niall?" Jay speaks up, not even having to look up from her almost empty wine glass to know that her son was at home. Louis squeaks at that, brushing out his fringe from his eyes and then quickly putting his hands behind his back. He didn't really know what to say — it's not like he actually hung out with the blonde. Should he just lie to her?
"Yes, mummy, we even played in his backyard." Louis blurts out without thinking, sucking in his lower lip, nervous that Jay wont believe him. It was quite in the room for a while, the tension unbearable and Louis didn't know why his palms were starting to sweat behind his back. His mother finally looks up from her glass and gives him a large smile, easing him back to normal because it seems like she bought the act.
Suddenly, Jay gets out of her seat and walks into the kitchen, beckoning Louis to follow her too. Once he enters the medium sized space, he gets hit with a delicious aroma and his stomach starts to growl loudly. Louis blushes and looks down in embarrassment when he hears his mother laugh — but it wasn't like she was making fun of him, maybe it was just funny in general. "I made something for you to eat."
Louis watches as his mummy takes out a large pot from the oven and places it on the counter, opening it up to reveal lasagna. "This looks good!" he chirps out, running over to the other side of the kitchen to get a plate. Louis was so hungry. He had only eaten breakfast before he went outside and started . . . playing. He walks back over to his mum who already had his piece resting heavily on her large spatula, giggling when she flops it down onto his plate quickly.
"Here, baby, I wanna talk to you so lets go sit in the dinning room, yeah?" she asks, washing her hands under the faucet before wiping them with a towel. Louis nods and opens the door to the room, walking inside and flopping down onto a chair. Jay follows him, sitting down on the opposite seat of her son with a wary smile on her face. "So . . . Niall tells me that you guys have gotten into an argument."
Louis' fork stops in midair, mouth still open as if he was going to eat the piece of lasagna (which he was). "H—He did?" he was starting to get shaky, afraid that Niall also told Jay that he was hanging out with the Mad Hatter. His mother nods, a sympathetic look crossing over her face and she fiddles with her wedding ring. "Did he say what the argument was about, possibly?"
"He says that you've been hanging out with someone that I don't approve of."
"Did he say who?"
Jay slowly shakes her head, shrugging her shoulders. "He didn't tell me who you were hanging out now because he was sure that you were going to tell me when I confronted you about this. Louis, listen to me, who is it? I won't get mad at you or anything, all I'm trusting you to do is tell your mummy the truth." she was staring right into Louis' eyes, a serious look on her face.
Louis opened and closed his mouth as if he didn't know what to say, desperately trying to think of something. "It's Rudy from down the block!" he cries out, hiding his face in his hands so Jay didn't have to see the uncertain look he was giving. It's silent for a moment, the only sounds that can be heard are Louis' heavy breathing (but it was for special affect).
"Rudy is not a bad kid, Louis," she pauses, laughing to herself, "I don't even know why Niall said I didn't approve of him." Louis cautiously looks up from his hands, still covering his mouth so his smile was not visible. "I appreciate Niall looking out for you. I think the only reason he told me this was because he was jealous of you finding more friends. He probably wants to keep you all to himself, that boy."
"So, if I'm not in trouble, can I eat in my room?" Louis inquires timidly, fiddling with the end of his dress. His mummy nods in agreement and he smiles, getting up from his seat and clasping the plate in his hands so it won't accidentally slip and shatter into pieces. He makes his way out of the dinning room and up the stairs to his room, having the urge to roll his eyes when he passes by Lottie's room and hears her gossiping with Fizzy.
Louis closes his bedroom door behind him when he gets there, gently placing the plate of lasagna on his desk and opening his purple curtains so he can see the moon shining outside. He lies down onto his bed, dress rising up so the cloth rests on his upper thighs, almost showing his panties. Louis quietly hums to himself, closing his eyes and letting his body rest.
The blue eyes boy gets knocked out of his thoughts when he hears tapping on his window. He peeks an eye open and sees a dark figure resting on the branch of a tree, watching him. Louis is about to scream until the moonlight flashes on the figures face, showing the familiar green eyes, curly hair, and red lips. He quickly gets out of his bed and opens the window far enough so Harry can get in.
"Hi," Harry's voice is breathy, sounding like he just ran a marathon but really it was because he was seeing his precious Louis again, "mind if I lay with you, princess?" he asks sweetly and the smaller boy nods, getting on his bed and making room for the Mad Hatter. Louis lets out a squeal when his back gets pressed onto Harry's front. Warmth spreads throughout his body and his eyes are soon slipping shut. There they lay, in each others arms with small smiles plastered on their faces.
Louis just wishes that he locked his door that night.
