A New Feeling

Naruto POV

Did he just. . .?

I could feel my long nails biting into my tan flesh, drawing blood as I clenched my fists. My already heated glare turned up about fifty degrees as I glared at Sasuke.

My best friend.

My brother.

I never thought that Sasuke out of all people, would be the one causing harm to Kyuubi.

So many emotions swirled inside of me at one.

Anger. Betrayal. Worry.

. . . Disappointment.

My sky blue eyes shimmering with suppressed emotions. I wanted to scream at him. I wanted to express my concern for Kyuubi. I wanted to break down and cry. I wanted to ask why he hurt the most important person to me.

Opening my plump lips, I sucked in a deep breath and slowly let it go.

I knew.

I knew he would never hurt Kyuubi without a pretty good reason to. Slowly, I unclenched my fists, wincing as I felt the blood against my fingertips, and turned my glare down until I was just frowning with confusion and disappointment dancing across my eyes.

Taking another really deep breath, I had to ask, "Why."

Sasuke POV

At first I was tense and nervous under Naruto's harsh glare. He looked about ready to kill me. But then, I saw him take a deep breath seemingly calming himself. Just as I was about to relax, I saw the look on his face. The look that made my heart shatter. The way that my beloved was looking at me, made me want to die.

This time I was the one who took a deep breath. I had to get this out.

"Kyuubi. You matter so much that we would kill someone without hesitation for you. You're our brother. We would do anything for you," I said with so much confidence in my voice.

"I would never intentionally hurt you. But when you implied that you didn't matter enough to fight for, something inside me snapped. I was shocked and angry at myself for harming you, but I'm glad I did. Because you do matter. So much. And I never want to hear you talk that way again," I was so confident in my speech, that Kyuubi started crying. And Naruto. He had a look on his face that I couldn't quite place. But at least he wasn't upset with me anymore.

Naruto POV

Hearing Sasuke's speech made my heart swell. Because I knew he meant every word of what he said to Kyuubi. An unknown emotion that had been swirling inside me for a long time around Sasuke, now made an appearance here. Except way stronger. I now know what that emotion was.

I am in love with Sasuke Uchiha.

I feel like I need to be punished by my friends for taking so long to update.😑
