Today was my first day of hell.
I hated the sound of my alarm, I hated getting dressed, I hated Drake and most of all I hated life itself.
I barely ate anything this morning. I didn't bring my wheelchair because I didn't want to deal with getting in people's way, so I was ready for my armpits to feel like the have been set on fire!
Getting on the bus was difficult but it was much easier when the driver got out and helped me. I sat in the front seat so I could get out of the barf smelling Twinkie quicker.
The school was an average sized school, I could tell that I'd have to do a lot of crutch walking.
I reached the main office, "Excuse me" I called for someone's attention. A red frizzy haired lady came up to the counter. "Hello dear what can I help you with?" She was very sweet.
"I'm new here and I don't know where I'm supposed to be." I asked her.
"You'll need to fill out these papers and then you'll be able to get a schedule." She spoke as she handed me papers.
It took me awhile to fill them out and hated every second of it. My schedule was crazy, good thing I am good at finding my way around.
I crutched slowly into my first period class, as soon as I opened the door all eyes where on me.
"You must be Leila, the new student?" The teacher who's name escaped me.
"Yup that's me" I responded blandly.
"Take any open seat" he instructed as he pointed to the class. I saw a seat in the very back, I made my way over to the back table when the floor was getting closer and closer to my face, it took me a minute to register that I had fallen, more like I had been tripped by some asshole who thought it was funny to trip a crippled girl.
I sat on my but and looked at the ass who was smirking at me, I gave him the bird and got off the floor heading to the back table where one innocent looking girl sat with her face in her arms as if she was asleep.
I plopped down on the chair and waited for the bell to ring so I could leave this hell hole.
I'm walking out the door when I hear someone "Wait!" I look back and it's the sleeping girl I was sitting next to, feeling awful generous I wait for her.
"Hi I'm Alice. You're the one who sat next to me right?" She introduced herself.
"Hello Alice I'm Leila and yes I was the one who sat next to you." I responded but then left quickly out the door not wanting to converse with anybody.
"See you tomorrow then?" She yelled from...really not that far away. I just nodded my head in agreement.
I kept getting looks from people as I crutched down the hall to my next class period, I gave them the evil eye and kept crutching my way down the hall. 'Just a few more classes then I can go home' I kept telling myself but in all actuality it wasn't working
I felt my crutch fall from beneath me, I was falling forward, I closed my eyes and was reading to hit the cold hard floor but was engrossed by a strong pair of arms. I looked up to someone I didn't know.
"Hey now don't go falling for me, I barley know you."
