He propped me back up and handed me my fallen crutch.
He stuck out his hand towards me, "Hi I'm Alexander but since you've fallen for me you can call me Alex."
I stared at him awe struck. "I've fallen for ya now.....Alex?" I attempted to shake his hand but found myself falling again, but Alex caught me.
"Twice now!? You must really have the hots for me if you've fallen for me twice now." He said with a smirk.
"Well Alex according to you I've fallen for you twice, I think it's about time you know my name. I'm Leila." I said as he propped me back up again.
"Let me walk you to class....Leila" he instructed me rather than asked me.
I started walking down the hall, Alex following behind."So where are you from?" He asked.
"North Dakota, why?"
"Well I was wondering what a pretty girl like you was doing in the big city."
"Rough past. You?"
"Born and raised here."
"So you haven't been anywhere else but this.....place you call home?"
"Exactly."
"Well this is me. Thanks for the talk." I spoke as I walked away, I felt a tug on my shirt and looked behind me. It was Alex.
"Can I see you tomorrow? Same place same time?" He asked me with worry laced in his face.
"Sure." I responded and crutched off. I looked back one last time to see him watching me with a smile, I smiled to myself.

The final bell rang. It was finally time to go home!!
All I had to do was walk out the door and get on the barf smelling Twinkie and I'd be home, but no I had to be stopped by someone."Need some help?" A strangely familiar voice asked.
I looked over my shoulder to see Alex. I looked at him with a glare but added a hint of joy to my face. "With what?" I asked overly nice.
"Getting home of course, I could give you a ride if you'd like?" Alex was being so sweet towards me, it was weird.
"Now why would you want to do that?"
"Well I thought I'd be nice and save you from that awful smelling bus." He stated with disgust on his face.
"Ok you can give me a ride but under one condition..."
"And what's that?"
"You have to promise to not stalk me." I said on a stern voice.
He held out his pinky to me, "I promise." I took his pinky and Locke it with mine as he waved them about.
We walked, well he walked and I crutched, over to his car. It was a nice dark green jeep, I loved jeeps.
I threw my crutches in the back seat of his car, I hopped over to the door that was being held open for me, I jumped in and waited for Alex to come over and start the car.
He put the key in the ignition and turned it over, you could hear the engine trying to start but it just wasn't trying hard enough. Alex looked over at me with worry laced in his face but quickly covers it with a quick smile. He friend trunk nicer the car three more times before it finally started, "it's and old jeep" he blandly.
Alex started the conversation, "So why is a rough past, North Dakota girl doing in a big city like this?"
"Family reasons."
"Are you liking the city so far?"
"I haven't really been out much so I don't know yet."
"Whys that?" He was asking way to many questions.
"Whys what?"
"Well you said that you haven't been out much, I was really wanting to know why."
I decided I'd tell him a couple things, after all I just met him. "I was in a car accident when i came here, so I was in the hospital for awhile." I said as I looked down remembering why I had gotten in the accident in the first place.
I tucked some hair behind my ear and felt the huge bald spot on the side of my head followed by a long line of stitches. We came across the street my foster house was on.
"I am so sorry that happened to you." He broke the silence. I looked out the window and saw my neighbors house.
"That yellow house is mine." I pointed out and we came to a slow stop.
"Here let me help you." Alex said as a jumped outbid the car and jabbed my crutches from the back seat as walked over to my doors and helped me out.
"Do you mind if I walk you to the front door?" He asked, I just looked at him with confusion. No one had ever asked me that before.
"Sure" I said with a grin on my face. We walked up to the front door and we just looked at each other-we where a fair distance apart-I noticed his eyes, his big brown eyes had a green Tint to them.
"Can I pick you up tomorrow morning?" He asked me, my eyes widened and I furrowed my brows.
"Slow down turbo, you can drive me home tomorrow if you'd like but you are not picking me up unless I say otherwise." I told him.
He chuckled, "okay but dont be surprised if somewhere along the line I show up at your doorstep." And then he walked away. Just like that.
