TWO: Slow Down Time

Buong araw na ata akong tulala.

"Hey!! Can we just proceed on our review session at nang mataas ang makuha natin sa exams and so after that we can go out na!--"

"--Ssshh!!"

She sighed. "Ugh. C'mon, Ky (!!) .." Pagpigil niya ng sigaw at inis. We're here kasi at the library, reviewing. Ah, oo. I think I'm awake na at naalala na nasa library pala kami dahil kinurot niya ako sa sobrang panggigigil.

"Aw, Kiss (!). Tsk. What's yer problem?"

"'What's yer preblem?'" She said, mimicing me. "Duh. Get over it! Ngingiti-ngiti ka pa diyan. You're thunking of him again noh?"

Tinignan ko siya like 'duh'. "Ha? Da who??"

"Edi yung lalaki sa Marketing Department!--"

"--Shh! Miss Saldaña, if you keep on making unnecessary noise, please get out." Warning ng striktong si mam Josefina.

"Oops, sorry mam!" So she started whispering all her words to me. "C'mon, Kai. Three days na eh (!). Get over it."

Itinaas ko ang left side ng upper lip ko sabay atras ng leeg (hope you can imagine hahaha) at taas ng both eyebrows. "Eh ikaw nga 'tong chumurva kaagad eh."

She patted my hand with her pen and said, "Uy (!) Makasabi ka naman ng 'chumurva' ako, kala mo sinunggaban ko na yung tao.."

"I guess that's what is exactly running in your wild mind that time."

And here I am again, daydreaming... "Haaay, ano kayang..."

Back to that scene..

*flashback*

Akala ko bababa pa talaga ako dahil lang sa isang pirasong papel na kulang. I was about to walk down the stairs nang.. "Miss, 'wag na. Ayos lang. You'll get tired if you walk down to the fourth floor back here at fifth." He smiled. Chos naman isang floor lang. Gagawin ko na nga para sa'yo diba. Kako sa isip ko with matching mental kilig.

"Uhm, are you sure? I can request for more copies para ibigay niyo naman sa other friends niyo.." C'mon Kyrie. Act natural. Wag ka ngang ngumiti! Argh.

"No it's okay." He said, showing his killer smile. Kulang na lang kumutitap ang mga iyon ng mas maliwanag pa ng mga bituin sa langit..

Oo kasi wala namang bituin (literal) sa lupa hays.

"Sure?" Oo nga Kyrie eh!! Pabibo ka rin? He nod and said yes. I just smiled and walked away.

*end of flashback*

"Huy! Anong ano?--"

"--Miss Saldaña(!) I gave you two warnings already. You can get out now(!)"

She rolled her eyes na lang then stared at me. Mga 3 seconds habang nakakunot ang noo. Syempre tinitigan ko lang siya at inanalyze kung anong ibig niyang sabihin. "Ano?(!)"

"Anong ano?" Kako naman.

She sighed sabay hila ng kamay ko palabas.

"Now, tell me what's going on." She asked again nang makalabas kami.

"On what?"

Pinandilatan niya ako ng mata. "On your mind! Duh? Ano yung ano?"

"Ano?" Kako uli.. Then I realized I was going to say ano kayang pangalan niya? "Ah, yun ba? ... Sabi ko, ano kayang... Ano.. Ano kayang kakainin nating meryenda mamayang vacant. Hehe." Mga palusot ko, bulok.

Natulala siya sa akin. "Ky, duh. Wala tayong vacant later."

5:00pm dismissal ko ng T/Th and today's Thursday. It's already 5:30pm and I'm still waiting for Kissy na iluwa ng pintuan ng classroom nila. 6:00 kasi dismissal niya.

I'm here at the school canteen, plugged my earphones and listened to the music. Mahilig ako sa Pop-Rock, Acoustic-Rock, at kahit anong Rock basta may class. Haha. Pero sometimes when I feel lonely, I listen to love songs or anything that would fit my mood. Yung may class pa rin.

I almost forgot about my surroundings dahil may paheadbang-headbang pa ako (mahina lang pero. It may look like nag-eenjoy lang ako sa song.) May umupo na pala sa chair next to me. Natapos ang song.

Dahan-dahan. Dahan-dahan akong lumingon sa kanan at napansin na may katabi na ako.

Parang lumabo ang paligid. Slow motion ang lahat. Pati ang paglingon niya sa akin..

Ngumiti siya. Gaya ng ngiti niya nung una ko siyang tinignan sa mata..

"Uy!"

I opened my eyes and saw Kiss. How. Great. The. Timing. Was. Nananaginip pa ako e. Tsk.

I lifted up my head from my book na nakapatong sa mesa sa harap ko.

"Kanina ka pa?" I asked.

"Nope, mga 1 minute. But I guess I should've came earlier, para naman napigilan ko yang paglalaway mo." She grinned.

"Uy!" I patted her right hand to stop her from laughing. "Naglalaway ako?" I whispered.

"Joke lang. To naman."

I pouted. Azar. "Ano, let's go home?" I asked and took my earphones off.

She slowly moved her head from left to right to left. "I guess.. No. I mean.. I BET you don't wanna go home yet." Her brows moved na parang alam niyang magugustuhan ko ang pangyayari. Sumenyas ang lips niya na I should look behind me.. On my right side..

There he is, laughing, with his friends, and suddenly... Looked into my eyes and smiled. Like the way he smiled at me, the first time I looked into his eyes..
