On average, every 5 out of 6 teens suffer from acne problems on one level or another. Good skin-care for the face is key to reducing or completely eliminating your acne. Follow this suggested routine, or come up with one your own-just make sure it's natural and follows the steps that should be in a good skin-care routine for your skin type ;)

1. Wash your face twice every day. You can do it when you wake up and get ready for the day, and after school or in the evening before bed. Whatever times you choose, make sure you stick to it. Cleaning your face of oils and dirt that collects on your face will reduce the chance for acne to develop.

2. Make sure after washing your face, you apply a moisturizer. This moisturizer should be all-natural and not have substances or ingredients in it that may be toxic or actually more damaging to skin that helpful  to it. Some brands I recommend is Dove and Mary Kay. They both have natural, nonharmful ingredients in their products that are really gentle on your skin.

3. You may also want to apply a specialized cream that should go directly on the spots of irritation and/or pimples and get rid of them. A blemish cream will be great for this. :)

4. Biweekly or at least weekly, apply a face mask.

5. Put on sunscreen daily, no matter where you are going and what time of year it is. It blocks harmful rays that can damage your skin. (And it doesn't need to be a hot summer day to do so! )

Also in addition (to add to your skin-care routine) remember to:

~Get enough sleep. This actually helps reduce acne! Get 8-10 hours of sleep each night!

~Eat healthy. Healthy foods fight irration and acne growth on yourself. Remember to eat vegetables, fruits, whole grains and natural foods as much as you can. Many beauty gurus recommend that 80% or more of the food you consume should be healthy & natural, while 20% can be French fries, pizza, and all those delicious favs of ours we call "junk food." xD

If you need to hide a blemish quickly:

If you get a blemish or zit on your face you need to hide quickly, just dab on a bit of concealer to the affected area and blend in with the rest of your face. BTW if you're new to wearing makeup, ensure that the concealer you use blends well with your skin tone. ;)
