40. Not dying without a fight

"Do you really think leaving Naruto was a good idea Kakashi Sensei?" Sakura asked as we watched Tazuna build the bridge.

"I'm sure he'll be fine" Kakashi Sensei said simply "he's not missing much."

This was very true seeing as, at the moment, we were all sitting on the ground eating lunch and watching the workers construct the bridge. All of us bored out of our minds; we left Naruto at home so he could get some sleep from staying out all night and recover his Chakra.

"Do you think Zabuza will come back" Sakura asked curiously as we watched Tazuna hammer a nail into a board.

"Probably" Kakashi Sensei said shrugging.

We all sweat dropped. Our Sensei...

"It's rather quiet" Sasuke said looking around "it doesn't feel right."

As if on que, all the bridge workers except Tazuna got a dazed look on their eyes and fell unconscious. We hurriedly jumped up and took out our Kunai's as a thick mist spread across the area.

"Form a protection circle around Tazuna" Kakashi Sensei said firmly.

We nodded and grouped around Tazuna looking around alert and ready.

"Still with the little kid games, huh?" Zabuza said tsking "how disappointing."

I gripped my Kunai so tightly my knuckles turned white and I exhaled deeply. I wish Naruto was here, he would tell me everything's going to be ok. Zabuza appeared from the mist accompanied by the same ninja in the mask that had supposedly 'killed' him. Zabuza began to make rapid hand signs and a circle of clones surrounded us. Sasuke smirked and began shaking. However, I could tell, he wasn't scared but overly excited.

"Look at this one" Zabuza said staring at Sasuke "still shaking in fear."

"Hn" Sasuke said smirking "actually I'm shaking....in excitment!"

On that note, Sasuke leapt into action and easily defeated the clones in a matter of seconds before attacking the other ninja. Then all hell broke loose and Zabuza charged at Kakashi Sensei as Sakura leapt in front of Tazuna looking around and protecting him. I guess I'll go help Sasuke. I ran over to where Sasuke had gone with the ninja and noticed them enticed in a fierce battle.

"Ruka!"

I jumped at the sound of my name and turned towards Sasuke to see him staring at me. He simply nodded and I nodded back as he began formulating a plan. He started fishing in his backpack for something so I leapt in front of him and engaged in battle with the ninja. He sent multiple Senbon needles at me and I skillfully dodged them as I started making hand signs.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

A explosion erupted from the water and a dragon came flying out as it charged towards the ninja. It engulfed the ninja inside its body like a prison and Kunai's made of water appeared within the dragon and started attacking the ninja. That should keep him busy.
