{Phil's POV}
As I finish up cleaning Liv's wound, she whispers a few words in my ear.
"Dan and Ash are looking at us, Phil, can we scare them?" she remarks, pointing towards the large window that the two brown-haired siblings are staring out of. I chuckle at her, getting onto all fours and crawling my way underneath their window sill, Liv following closely behind.
"Three, two, ONE!"
We both pop our heads up. I catch a glimpse of Dan's shocked expression and widened eyes as he falls backwards, taking Ash down with him. I laugh, his facial expression permanently burned into my memory. As Ash and I walk back towards our own front door, I hear Dan call my name.
"PHIL-uh, I mean, hey Phil," Dan stutters.
"Hey, I gotchya then didn't I?" I laugh, my tongue slips out of my mouth by a force of habit. I quickly raise a hand to the lower half of my face, a wave of insecurity tumbling over my body.
Dan smirks.
"You sure did, Philly."
I raise my eyebrow at him. My mum had tried to call me 'Philly' before, but the nickname didn't stick, so it was always just 'Phil'. Yet, hearing the nickname roll out of Dan's mouth was quite endearing and sent little waves of happiness through my veins.
Dan's smirk widens, snapping me back to reality. No. He's just a dickhead. He's a dickhead. He's a dickhead. I repeat the words over and over in my head, making my brain associate Dan with the word 'dickhead'

As I zone back into reality, Dan's face holds a quizzical expression.
"Phil? You just whispered the word 'dickhead'..are you feeling alright?"
Oh, if only he knew. I blame it on my fatigue, but Dan doesn't seem to be listening.

{Dan's POV}
My heartbeat quickens as I breathe heavily and attempt to ask Phil out.

Yes, I know I know. I promise I don't like him. He's just a dorky guy who... okay, I can't trick anyone. Yes, maybe his eyes are quite nice. Maybe his voice makes me want to... I won't go into that. But I suppose his skin does look quite velvety and...
"Phil, I was wondering, just maybe if-" I stutter. I fucking stutter. And so, I try again.
"I mean, if you'd like, it'd be nice if you'd grab a coffee, or lunch. For me- I mean, WITH me. With me."
Phil smiles, baring his perfect white teeth. I stare at his mouth as he licks his lips and thinks.
"OH MY GOD. DAN WANTS TO GO ON A DATE WITH PHIIIIIL"
Ash's annoying voice slices through the lovely atmosphere like Satan's pitchfork. Liv scoffs and Luke shakes his head.
"Phil would nev-"
"That would be nice, Dan. How about a coffee after school on Tuesday?"
