{Dan's POV}
I hear Luke laughing upstairs, and another sunny voice talking to him. So their brother WAS at home...
I was debating about whether or not I should go upstairs when Lily taps me on the shoulder.

"You can go upstairs you know."

I smile sweetly at her and start making my way up the stairs. I looked around and spotted two rooms on one side of the hallway and two rooms on the other. I walk through the hallway and read the signs on the doors.

Luke and Olivia
Do Not Enter! Or we will attack.

Lily and Mike
We're the rulers of the family. Bow down.

Visitors
This room is probably haunted.

I chuckle at the descriptions as a come across the last room, the source of Luke and his brother's voice. I look at the door. It just has a name on it, no description.

Phil.

The door is slightly open, so I peer in and I see Luke cuddled up to a boy my age, who is stroking his hair. They're not facing the door, so I flip out my phone and take a picture, thinking that I could use it jokingly against this boy if I was to become his friend. Just as I am about to knock, Luke rolls out of the blankets and says
"Uh..I'm going go and hang out with the people downstairs."
I hear the beautiful vo-wait a minute...I haven't even seen this boy and I think his voice is beautiful already?! No. I can't fall for the new kid. I can't.
"Sure, just close the door."
My eyes widen as I try to think of what to do. I flatten myself against the wall as the door flings open wide again. Luke bounds down the stairs and I hear Ash squeal.
"LUKEEEEEEY!!"
Way to go Ash.
I hear the boy sigh.
"The door..."
I'm about to close it for him, my arm reaching to the doorknob, when a pale hand lands on top of mine, sending jolts of electric excitement up my body. I've never felt this way when I touched someone before. I look up and see that the boy has turned around, so his back was facing me. His black shiny hair was in a bedhair fashion, and he just looked so cute.
"Hey."
NICE WAY TO START DAN.
"Y-y-you sh-should g-g-go..." he stutters.
"I haven't even seen your face yet."
"I-I'm not the t-type o-of person y-you'd w-w-want to m-make friends w-with."
I step into his room.
"Hey, that's not true, I bet you're..."
I search my brain for the right word, but only one word makes it out of my mouth.
"Beautiful."
I see his pale neck turn a light shade of pink and he fiddles with the hem of his shirt.
"N-nobody's really complimented m-me like th-th-that."
He stammers.
"You have a beautiful voice." I continue.
His neck turns darker.
"N-no, I don't d-deserve t-t-to talk, my voice i-is ugly a-and s-s-stupid."
"Please turn around, I want to know what you look like."
He hesistates for a moment, then decides.
"No, s-sorry, p-p-please get out o-of m-my r-room."
"No, can you at least tell me if your name is Phil?"
He lets out an agitated breath.
"What's your name?"
"Dan, short for Daniel."
He goes over to his bed and sits down, still facing away from me.
"Phil. Short for Philip. Okay you can leave now." Phil spits.
"I really want to know what you look like!" I'm annoyed now.
His tone turns scared.
"I-I'm sorry...y-you w-w-wouldn't be missing o-out on m-much if you d-didn't know w-what I look like."
"What does that mean?"
"I-I'm ugly. What do you think it means?"
"You're probably pretty hot, please turn around, Philip."
"No, Daniel."
"Then why don't you describe yourself?" An idea pops into my head.
He gives out a huge breath and starts.
"Starting with my face, my complexion is pale, which is ugly and I look like a vampire. My eyes are a stupid blue colour and my nose is a weird shape, which throws my face off balance and I am so ugly, because my mouth is always tilted to the right, not the middle. I'm a little shorter than you and I'm just plain ugly. There. Happy with my description?" he spits.
I recall his description and re-word it.

"Phil, you're probably the sexiest vampire if you were one, your eyes probably match the sparkling ocean, your nose is probably the most adorable boopable nose, your mouth, well, probably always has a permanent sexy smirk, you're probably very beautiful."
This was all fake. I'm just doing this to get him. He'll buy it. Nearly everyone did. He probably is ugly anyway. I start talking again.
"Now, show me if I'm right."

Phil takes a deep breath.

And he turns around.

My fake description was accurate. Very accurate. This boy is very attractive. His bright blue eyes pierce into mine and sends shivers up my body. His pitch black hair is styled perfectly. His nose is so cute I want to to kiss it. And his lips. Oh. His lips look so soft, I just want to lean in and-
"See? I told you I'm ugly. Now please get out of my room."
Tears start making their way out of his eyes. I don't say anything.
"Dan. Get out of my room. Please."
He's beautiful.
"Phil, you're beautiful."
That catches him off guard.
"Wha-what? No, I'm not. You're probably going to do the same as what he did."
"He? Ex-boyfriend?"

{Phil's POV}
As much as Dan is kind hearted and pretty attractive, I don't have feelings towards him just yet. He seems to pry a lot. Dan didn't seem fazed when I mentioned him, which was strange...
He doesn't seem like my type. Anyway, I can't tell him what happened in the past. Dan is a possible friend. If I tell him, he'll probably hate me.

"Phil, you're bi, right?"

My whole world collapses. He knows. I mumble a quick excuse and run to the bathroom, slam the door and lock it. Strangely enough, Dan doesn't follow. He probably thinks I'm a freak now. I sigh and groan in frustration.

{Dan's POV}
Maybe I was a bit clingy...
I think about following him, but I think twice. Why not take this opportunity to check out his room?
I wonder around, looking at all the posters. I take note that all of his interests match mine.
Muse, Fall Out Boy, Pokemon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
He has gorgeous blue and green bed sheets unlike my black ones and a lion plush toy sits delicately on his pillow. I flip my phone out again and take pictures of everything in his room.
I open a drawer, and find some plush toys lying around there. A small smile plays on my lips, his personality is so adorable. But something else catches my attention. Something shiny. A shiny metal object, under all the innocent plush toys.
