Me, The Trees And Leaves

The forest

Keeps me company

And comforts me

When I feel the misery

Of being so far from home

Realising I'm all alone

Staring up into the leaves

Being surrounded by the trees

Takes that feeling away from me

I see a fortress

In the distance

I am part of the resistance

I have to attack in this instance

But I feel the breeze

It brings me to my knees

Because the trees

Only want peace

The forest

Makes me ambitious

I feel I can just jump from branch-to-branch

In the shadow of a mountain

And not care about an avalanche

It makes me feel like shouting

Because no one would hear me

And when I don't get an answer

I know that I am free

It's just me, the trees and leaves
