The Next Day

The next morning Piper finally wakes up. As soon as she wakes up she forgets where she is and is confused. "where the fuck-" her memory of last night comes back to her now "ohhh shit yeah Im still at Alex's." Piper lays in bed for a couple minutes extra and tries to remember what was a dream last night and what was real. When she finally finds her sock that fell off in the night and remembers what happened she gets up and walks down the hall into the living room.

"Well look who finally decided to show up" Nicky smirked as she was eating some coco pops on the couch watching TV. Piper just yawned and laughed a little as she sat down next to Nicky. "Al's just gone to the deli to get some coffee she should be back soon, you want some cereal?" Nicky said as she walked into the kitchen

"That'd be great" Piper said as she followed Nicky. Nicky showed Piper where the bowls, spoons, milk and cereal was then sat back down on the couch. Piper got herself some cereal then put everything neatly away just as she found it. Piper was going to sit down with Nicky again when the door swung open and Alex walked in "I'm home- oh you're both up now" 

"got my coffee?" Asked Nicky

"nice to see you too" Alex joked as she handed over the coffee

"Thankyou" Nicky smirked then took a sip of her coffee

"Piper i got one for you as well but I wasn't sure what you liked or wanted so i just got a mocha if you want it" Alex offered

"oh thanks, Mocha's good" Piper said as Alex gave her the coffee

They all spent the morning watching TV and talking then when it was 1pm Nicky had to go. "alright i'll see you all soon thanks for a good night as always Al and it was cool hanging out with you Piper, See ya"

"bye Nicky, see you soon"

"good hanging out with you too, bye"

"so what time do you have to go back home?" asked Alex

"oh any time, It's Saturday so Dad's playing golf at the country club and Mum is catching up with other house wives at the country club" Piper said with a fake smile

"aha wow sounds like... fun" Alex said joking.

"but wait the fun doesn't stop there.. Lawn bowls in the afternoon" Piper said in a fake voice

"oh my god wow such a cliche couple" Alex said hoping not to offend Piper

"yep they're my parents- you know when i was in grade 4 i went to the movies with Polly and I saw my dad there, with another woman and they were kissing, and i told my mum and she pretended she didn't hear me" Piper said with a sarcastic smile

"oh woah sorry to hear that kid, life of a cliche dad" Alex said as she moved closer to Piper

"life of a cliche asshole"  Piper murmured  to herself but Alex heard and laughed

Hours had past of them talking, listening to music, watching TV and raiding the fridge. Alex wanted to show Piper one her favourite places in the world that she went to as a kid and still goes to. "wanna go for a walk?" 

"where too?" asked piper

"The park, i wanna show you something"

"alright lets go"

They put their shoes one and walked out side down the steps and through a back alley till they got to park. The park wasn't anything special, over the years more graffiti had been done on the playground, more trees got chopped down and it started to become a bit run down. But there was one tree, the tallest and biggest tree in the whole park that had still stayed undamaged. Alex walked up to it and showed piper. "this is where i used to come as a kid if i wanted a break from things, we can climb up it if you want"

"hell yeah this tree looks so cool" 

Alex laughed and showed Piper the easiest way up the tree then followed. They sat in the middle part of the tree. Piper found it really relaxing and now realised why Alex used it as an escape. "so what do ya think?" asked Alex

"it's so pretty up here and relaxing" Piper said in a calm tone. "I haven't climbed a tree in years because my dad thinks it's dangerous" said Piper taking another dig at her dad.

"what???? does your dad let you do anything ?" asked alex

"nope not really" replied piper

"well seen as your Dad doesn't know how to teach you to live a little, I will" Said Alex with a smirk on her face. "so he doesnt let you climb trees what else doesn't he let you do?"

Trying to think of examples of the rules she had while growing up "don't talk to strangers, always walk on the well lit side of the street, always hold on to my wallet and don't jump out of busses, and don't go to any parties that he doesnt know the parents of.. just to name a few"

"wow so you've had a pretty boring childhood huh?" asked alex

"well i mean it was okay just very safe and yeah boring i suppose" Piper said with a glum look on her face

Alex grabbed her hand "I won't let it be boring anymore" 

Piper gave Alex the biggest smile and felt so happy, the happiest she had felt in a long time. 

It was getting late so Piper decided she should go home "well i better get going, thanks though for letting me stay I had a great time"

"no worries we should do it again some time" Alex said with a smile

They both went in for a hug and at the start it was awkward but it felt so right and neither wanted to let go. The eventually let go and Piper said her last good bye and made her way home.

"Oh darling you're home, just in time for dinner, how was your day with Polly?" Carol her mum asked 

"it was great" piper said as she took a seat at the dining table next to her brother. "how was golf dad"

"it was good, we had a great day didn't we Hun" said Bill 

"oh yes it was great weather" replied Carol

Pipers mood had already sunk as she got back into the cliche lifestyle her parents. She was very distant from the dinner conversation topics because all she could think about was Alex. Once Piper had finished her dinner she put her plate in the kitchen and went up to her room. Piper went on her computer at 8pm and checked her Facebook and Instagram then she went on Tumblr and somehow it was already 1am. Piper was just about to go to sleep when she got a text message. It was from Alex.

Alex- come outside

what???? Piper thought as she looked outside her window and say Alex waving at her to come down. Piper quietly got changed out her pyjamas and tip toed down stairs and went out the back door and through the gate to get to Alex. "Alex what are you doing hear?" Piper said in a whisper

"small party at Nicky's, come on" Alex grabbed Piper's hand ran towards Nicky's house. Nicky's house wasn't far from Pipers so they got there quite quick. When they got there Piper could faintly hear the music from outside. When they walked in the music suddenly got way louder. There were about 50 people there in Nicky's house. "I thought you said 'small' this isn't small" Piper said in shock as Alex laughed at her. 

Nicky came over and greeted them "Chapman, Vause, Welcome"
