It all came round too fast. Before I knew it, I was sitting on the plane, thinking about my long journey ahead. I thought that I ought to get some rest, so I put down my book and put my head back on my seat. I thought about all of the great things that I could get up to in Australia, the great opportunities that I could get. With that, I closed my eyes, and fell asleep.
When we landed, the heat was unbelievable. It made my eyes burn, causing me to squint. The smells were all different, in a good way. The buildings were just breath-taking. It was surprising how quick we collected our bags and how quick we got out of the airport. I could hear the very strong Australian accents from all around me, it was very busy. There were families re-uniting with eachother, couples staring in awe and people that were obviously Australian themselves, just getting in their car and going home.
''Right, we need to find the house. I have the adress. The hire car is around the corner, lets go.'' My Mum said.
We eventually found a our blue car and drove away. As we were driving to our new home, I took in the sights. Beautiful beaches with white sand, huge trees and modern buildings. I was starting to like this, a lot.
We arrived at our house after roughly an hour in the car, which wasn't too bad considering we got lost twice. It looked really nice from the outside. White with a small green front garden and a wall going around the outside. Inside was great as well. The stairs were on the left as you walked through the front door. The kitchen was small but it was an open room with the lounge attatched to it. My room was upstairs to the left, small again, but nice.
I went back outside to help my mum bring in a couple of bags when I noticed someone from across the road looking at me. A boy actually. He looked roughly my age and he wasn't too bad looking from this distance. He started to cross the road and he approached my mum asking if she needed any help and also welcoming her to the neighbourhood. He walked over to me as he realised I was struggling with my bags. I then realised how good-looking he actually was. His eyes were so nice and his nose was so cute. His hair was tidily kept and brushed upwards. I noticed he had a lip piercing, which in my opinion made him twice as hot. Okay, he was very hot. Just breathe Natasha, breathe.
''Hey, uh you look like you're having some trouble there haha, do you want some help?'' He said. His accent was strong.
I accepted and he took two of the bags off me and brought them inside.
''Thanks, uh..'' I hesitated, not knowing his name.
''Daniel.'' He said. ''And, no problem. You can call me Skip if you want, everyone else does.''
''Ah, well, thanks..Da- oh I mean Skip.'' I said, trying not to embarrass myself infront of him.
He smiled and went to let himself out. But he stopped and turned back to face me and said, ''Don't be afraid to knock on my door if you need me.'' He then walked back down my garden and walked back over to his house, saying goodbye to my mum on the way. Oh god, did that actually just happen? This new home is going to be much better than I thought.
