I. Say the time
Vous avez l'heure? (vooz zahveh leur) = Do you have time?
Quelle heure est-it? (kehl leur ehteel) = What time is it.
Quelle heure il est? (kehl leur eel leh) = What time it is?

Usual Expression
huit heures (heweet teur or hwit teur) = eight °clock
huit heures et quart (heweet teur eh khahr) = quarter past eight
neuf heures moins le quart (neuf teur mwahn (le) khahr) = quarter to nine
midi (meedee) = noon
minuit (meenewee or meenwi) = midnight
Official Expression
*Unlike in english system, french use h instead of : .8h00 (huit heures) or 20h00 (vingt heures)
8h15 (huit heures quinze) or 20h15 (vingt heures quinze)
8h45 (huit heures quarante cinq) or 20h45 (vingt heures quarante cinq)
12h00 (douze heures)
0h00 (zéro heure) *people usually use minuit instead of this
If there is a risk of confusion in time, we add "du matin" (doh mahtuhn) = in the morning and "du soir" (doh swah) = in the evening.
II. Period
Un quart d'heure (uhn khahr deur) = 15 minutes
Une demi-heure (un duhmee heur) = half an hour
Trois quarts d'heure (trwah khahr deur) = 45 minutes
Toute la journée (toot lah joorneh) = whole day
Toute la soirée (toot lah swareh) = whole night
