Bonjour, je m'appelle Leslie. J'ai vingt et un ans. Enchantée. Et vous? Comment vous appelez-vous? Comment t'appelles tu?

I think some of you know this already.

(* phonetic characters only exist in french which are sometimes pronounced nasally)

Bonjour [bõ*ʒur] (bohnzhoor) = Good morning / afternoon

Je m'appelle -name- [dʒə mapɛl] (juh mapehl) = My name is -name-

~pronounce awn like in drawn

J'ai -age- ans. [dʒɛ ã*] (jeh -..- awn) = I'm -age- years old.

Enchantée (awnshawnte)= Pleased to meet you.

Et vous (eh voo) = And you (plural)

Comment vous appelez-vous? (komo voozapehleh voo) = What are your names?

Comment t'appelles-tu? (komo tapehl tchu) = What is your name?

Frankly i'll abandon the phonetic character and just focus on its spelling...sorry guys, just bare with it (_ _)

French Alphabet:

Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz

No difference in English Alphabet right? But listen to the media to the right to know its difference. I want you to know that even if French and English got the same Alphabet, that doesn't mean they are pronounce exactly the same.

Ww is (dooblehveh)

Yy is (eegehrehg)

Zz is (zed)

*Take note that Hh and Yy are mostly considered vowels in French.

They are exactly how we write them in english, 1, 2, 3, but pronounced differently.

1 Un (uhng)

2 Deux (do) but this one is nasally pronounce

3 Trois (trwah)

4 Quatre (kahtruh) or (kahtr)

5 Cinq (sahngk)

6 Six (sis)

7 Sept (set)

8 Huit (hew-eet) or (hwit)

9 Neuf (nof) - nasal o

10 Dix (dis) oor (dees)
