Chapter 2

Me and Alex were walking to my house to watch a movie and tell my parents what'd happened today.

The rest had gone home to tell there parents and were meeting us later.

Alex had come with me since he had no one to tell.

His mom had died of cancer about five years ago, since then his dad wasnt the same.

He didnt talk at home only probably at his job and most of the time he had free he was drunk.

I came out of , my thoughts when Alex shook me.

My head quickly shot up and I saw a lot of people running around, shouting orders.

What was going on? I asked myself as I looked around.

I saw fireman runnig around trying to put out a fire, oh my god what happened.

I turned around to see Alex standing there frozen looking at the house saddly.

"Alex, I think we should go around them to get to my house fast to see if my mom knows what happened. " I said worried

"Angel" He whispered in a shaky voice "T-th-thats, th-thats"

"What!? What is it!?" I asked getting annoyed he wasn't telling me.

"Thats your house" he whispered really low I couldn't hear.

"What!!??" I asked getting worried by the look on his face, but he didnt answer.

I turned around really looking at the house and thats when it hit me.

Thats my house.Thats my house.That's my house!! That's my house! !!!

Before I knew it I was running towards the mass of people with Alex yelling my name from behind.

Please let them have survived! Please let them have survived! !!

I kept repeating that over in my head.

Though I had a feeling they weren't. Why?

Well my dad had bought this house years ago, when he did the windows

were all sealed shut, you couldn't open them.

My mom had told my dad to fix them over the years, but I still dont remember if he did or not.

As I turned around I saw my neighbor and her husband standing there, she was crying while his husbamd had sad look on his face.

When she caught my eye she quickly came over and hugged me."You poor child!" She told me as she started crying more.

"What happened! ?" I asked her but she just shook her head at me.

"What happened! !!!??" I asked getting irritated no one was telling me nothing.

I pushed her away as she tried to hug me, I needed answers.

As I turned around I saw Alex standing there. "They took your parents to the hospital" he said "the police said theyll take you there if you want, do you want me too come along?"

I just nodded not talking.

We got in the car as the police man drove us there in silence.

"Angel listen too me" Alex said as I turned to look at him. "No matter what happens ill always be there for you, I promise ill never leave you and whatever happens, well make it thru together.Okay"

I just nodded giving him a small smile as he kissed my forehead. This is why I loved my best friend, he was always there for me, no matter what.

Well at least thats what I thought.

I quickly got out and almost ran to the entrance dragging Alex behind with me.

When I got to the receptionist I asked her for my family and waited for her to tell me wich room. "2nd floor, Room 126" I nodded to her as I went to the elevator and pressed the 2 button on the elevator.

As the doors closed I laced my fingers thru Alex's and squeezed his hand as he hugged me.

Though he stiff and as I lookef up at him I saw he looked deep in thought, as if something was bothering him.

"Im sorry about the pie thing" he said suddenly " I was in a rush and I just grabbed anything"

"Why were you in a-" I was cut off by the ding of the door, to which I responded by quickly run out in search of room 126.

Just as I was about to knock on the door it suddenly swung open and out stepped a person I was relieved to see.

"Angel Helvis?" he asked

I nodded my head. " Is my family okay doctor! ?" First talking since the whole accident. "Are they fucken okay! ?" I asked irritated that people wouldn't answers me.

As I looked up at his dark brown eyes that were filled with pity.

"Are they!!?" I asked louder. I was aware everyone and everything had stopped moving, and that all eyes were on us.

I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder but I shugged it off.

Only to have it put again, "Angy?" I turned around frustrated to see Alex and burried my head in his chest not crying.

"Come with me alone please, miss Helvis. " I heard the doctor say behind me. I turned around to face him only to see him walking away.

"Not if my friend cant come with me" I said although I very well wanted to know how my family was.

"Very well then, come along. " he called out not bothering to turn around.

I locked my fingers with Alex's while I silently prayed my family was okay, crossing my fingers as I did so.

As we entered the doctor's office I could smell the faint smell of coffee being made and the horrible smell I hate, that you get every time you go to the doctor.

"Have a seat please, miss Helvis. " the doctor said pointing to some chairs in front of his desk.

As I did, I turned around and looked out the window as the doctor closed the door.

It was pouring outside and for that I was thankful to the sky.

I took a deep breath as I turned back to face the doctor.

"Miss Halvis, your parents bank account money will be passed down to you just as she wished" he said in a funny voice.

Why would she pass me all our famillys money?

"Are they okay? Where is she!?" If you thought I was mad before, you wouldn't even imagine how I was right now.

I was beyond pissed and if he didnt tell me shit was gonna happen.

Letting out a sight he removed his glasses and looked me in the eye.

"Im sorry for your loses." he simply said.

I froze at those words, the exact words I didnt want to hear, the words I regreted hearing. But he didnt say they were dead, they cant be, I got to be sure. "T-T-Their dead?" I asked in a whisper.

He nodded looking at me with pity filled eyes.

"You will be living with your uncle just as your mother also requested"

and thats when it sinked in.

My parents were dead.

My brother was dead.

Our house was gone.In less than 24 hours my house was burned down along with my parents.

I didnt cry though, as I thought more about it I started getting this numb feeling washing over me like icy cold water was being poured over me.

And suddenly the floor was rushing towards me, the lasting I heard was alex shouting my name as everything went black.
