Chapter 6

Chapter 6

"Okay let's take a break!" I said as I went to jump off the stage heading for the small table we had filled with water bottles and cheese crackers. It was two month since the whole incident with Alex and although it hurt and as fast as it was, I was moving on. It had also been a month since Johnny had started playing with us as a group and the group seemed to like him which was good. As for Alex leaving, I had said he had gotten sick of everything and the band and had decided to leave town, which he had. In the end everyone believed it, that was good, nobody knew the truth, no one but me and Johnny. I felt bad lying to the people I most cared for but it was for their own good, I believed.

"Hey" I heard Johnny mumble beside me as I turned to stare at him.

"Hey" I said smiling, I had grown close to him the last month or so and had made a very strong friendship, he wasn't always nervous around me anymore, well mostly always.

We went to say goodbye to the group and walked out the iron gates leading onto the street. As we walked we kept a peaceful comfortable silence. In a few blocks we'd have to part our own ways and he would go east and I would head west to my uncles house. 

"Thank you" I said in a hushed tone to Johnny. He looked at me for the longest time and finally replied,

"No problem" I didn't have to say what it was that was thankful for, he already knew. 

"For everything" I continued, "I'm not sure what we would have done without you, and its realize nice to have someone know especially since I'm keeping it from everyone and I feel terrible! I know it's wrong but I can't, I just can't tell them what he said, what he... I can't, I just can't Johnny!" I was on the verge of loosing it when I felt a hand on my wrists pull me forward and soon embracing me in a hug.

"It's okay, just breathe, just breathe" he cooed as he hugged me tightly.

He suddenly pulled back as he grabbed my face in both of his hands taking me by surprise, 

"I'll be here for you, even when you think you have no one at least I'm here for some type of comfort. Before you and the gang I had no one and you gave me everything, friends and music. If he doesn't want you than I do." he said as he hugged me tighter. "I'll never leave you" he whispered lightly.

I felt my heart swell and stomach constrict in knots as I hugged him back happy at the words that had left his breath. 

"I love you Johnny, you're the greatest friend I've ever had, ever." I said and I felt him tense then slightly relax.

"I love you too" he said as I stared as his beautiful green eyes. And suddenly we were parting our own ways and I was left with a longing I did not know.
