Chapter 22

*Lily*

I look at the gates to this huge place.

"Holy crap!" May shout-whispered.

Liam nodded and motioned for us to follow him around back.

We snuck around the stone wall until we came to a certain spot where Liam stopped and said, "We'll have to climb that tree."

The tree he was pointing to was huge and had a branch going over the seven foot wall.

May scoffed and Rose laughed.

"You may be and fit and such, we have at least two people who can't climb here, mister!" Rose shouted while pointing at May and herself.

"Hey!" May shouted.

"What, are you actually going to climb it?"

"Well..... no...."

"Exactly!"

"Shh, shh!" Liam told the two of them.

"Okay," I said, "so maybe we could help you guys up, I mean, you guys have climbed other trees! You could do it with a bit of help!"

They both sighed and said, "Fine," at the same time and then yelled, "Jinx!" at the same time again. It eventually turned into them auguring who said what first and such until I clapped and yelled.

"Ladies, could you please SHUT IT!"

I breathed in when they were quiet and said, "Thank you!"

Liam face-palmed along with Twyla and Dan asked, "So........ who's helping people up?"

"I'll help Rose up and you can help May up Dan," I say and we all start climbing with me and Dan dragging Rose's and May's lazy butts behind us.

We all climb on the branch that crosses the wall and drop down on to a big pile of empty horse feed bags.

"He loves the environment, huh?" May muttered and we got up and brushed ourselves off.

"I told you guys, this guy is a butt-hole," Liam says.

"Yep, now where do we blow stuff up at!" Dan says excitedly.

"Lily will go with me to the place where the fire will start and Twyla will lead you guys to where we'll meet you guys to get the horses."

We all agree on this and Liam and I start going to the main house while the others head towards the stables.

Liam points towards a direction and whispers, "Start a flame over that way and we'll wait till someone sees to run."

I nod and slowly breathe in and out before making a small flame near some dried out grass.

The flame quickly spreads, but I make sure it doesn't touch anything important besides the grass and part of the house.

I couldn't bring myself to burn much more than that.

One of the many workers that Liam had mentioned when we were explaining the plan to everyone saw the fire and yelled, "Fire! Get water someone! Help!"

Liam quickly grabbed my arm and said, "Let's go!"

I worriedly looked back but started running with Liam.

He smiled and as we were running said, "That went great!"

I managed a small smile, but I still felt bad.

I have a huge guilt factor.

We see the others and Twyla smiles encouragingly at us.

"Great, now we can run in the stables and get the horses!" Twyla exclaims.

We all run in and no one is around like we hoped and we each mount a horse bareback.

We all run out. Liam was right to say these horses were well trained, they didn't give us any trouble.

We all know how to do this since we all took a horse riding class at school and Liam has rode before on one he and his 'father figure', Henry, used to have before it died of old age.

We ride out and Liam shouts, "Quickly! To the entrance!"

He leads us but we run into some very angry workers.

"Oops," Liam says.

I carefully make a wall of fire in front of us so they can't touch us.

Some shout out things such as "Witch!" and "Demon!" and my flames falter a bit but I breathe in and keep them up.

Liam notices and yells, "Come on!"

And off we go?
