Chapter 38

As the weeks flew buy, we finally came to the end of the school year. Just 3 more days of crowded hallways, studying and teachers telling us to try our best for the last few finals. I only had 2 more to do and that was English and biology, and I was dreading them both. However, getting through these exams meant going on tour soon with 5sos and I was pretty damn excited.

After school on Monday we all decided to hangout and catch up because most of our conversation were at school, stressing ourselves which wasn't very healthy. Some quality time with the group will definitely help me at least.

"So how many exams left guys?" Ashton asked taking a seat in front of the TV and setting up Luke's/ Ryan's ps4.

"Three." Michael and Calum said in sync. They looked up at each other and grinned. "Jinx."

"Two." Luke said.

"Same, thank goodness." I added, relaxing on Luke's couch in my normal spot.

"Just one more for me." Ryan said. "But it's physics so there's nothing to be happy about." He looked up from his phone. "I should probably start revising for it seeing as it's... Tomorrow. Shit."

"Just 3 more days, we'll survive and then the tour. Can't fucking wait!" Michael shouted that last bit and I knew he was extremely excited, just like all of us were.

"I know. I still can't believe we're actually gonna be stuck in an actual tour bus and playing shows almost every night," Ash took a breath. "It's crazy."

The boys talked about the tour and decided to put final touches to their setlist.

"So how's Bree?" Bree was the girl Ryan asked out at that party and went on a few dates with. She's now his girlfriend and I haven't seen him happier than this.

"Ahhh, Bree. She's amazing. She's been saying how she doesn't want me to go on the tour but I don't know, I really want to. But I'd miss her. I sound so clingy but yeah. She's great and I'm actually gonna bring her home to introduce her to mum and dad. God help me with that." He giggled.

"That's good, you finally found yourself a girl. I'm happy for you. She seems awesome." I haven't met Bree yet which is weird because they've been going out for like a month now. "Can I meet her soon? Ya know, you need the bestfriend approval."

"I'll tell you whenever she's coming over, it'll probably be for dinner so you can come too. You'll probably be here anyway."

"True and okay. Now, I think you should be doing some revision. Don't wanna disappoint Liz." I laughed at him.

"Um, Gabi, can I talk to you?" Calum asked me while the rest were playing PlayStation.

"Yeah, shoot."

"So, you might have noticed we aren't really close, but..."

"But what?" Why do I have a feeling this won't go so well.

"I need your help." He said and I felt a wave of relief because sentences that start with 'we aren't really close but' sometimes lead to other things which I don't even want to think about.

"My mums been bugging me about my finals and she wants me to do really good but I'm an idiot and I've been focusing on other things rather than school life and I basically don't know what to do. I kind of winged the first few and I think I passed but these last three are the worst ones so I need your help." Not what expected at all.

"It's okay to be focusing on other things rather than school especially for you because you're going on tour soon, don't stress out."

"But I have 2 finals tomorrow and I literally don't know anything. Just please give me some techniques or something. I want to at least graduate school."

"Right, Ok, I'll try."

With that I told Calum that he should go home and revise taking about 15 minute breaks each hour. Also to highlight and all that stuff. He didn't have much time but maybe he could still at least pass.

"So what have you and Cal been up to." Luke asked when he drove me home.

"Actually, you'll probably be surprised. He asked me to help him out with his last few finals because he wants to make his mum proud."

"Poor him, his mum has always pressured him a little hard with school and she was a bit against the whole band thing when he first mentioned it to her but his dad is brilliant, he talked her into it 'cause he knows that's what Calum wants to do. He's been quite stressed." Well at least he's trying for him mum. I told Cal to tell me after school tomorrow about how the exams went, I believe in him.

"He just has to push through these last couple of days and he's done. We're all done. And then here we come 5sosfam and the world. How excited are you exactly?"

"Very very very very very very very.." We said changing the tone of his voice each time he said very. "Very, very damn excited. Can't wait to show you Australia as well, that's gonna be epic trust me. By the way, I love you even more because you helped Cal. He could've asked me for help as well though, I mean I'm a start-ass too and I'm his age-"

"Hey! Age doesn't define you or your intelligence, well not in this case. I think we're both quite smart. And no problem, that's what friends are for."

"We have a little situation here." Dad said as soon as I walked into the kitchen to find him making gorgeous lasagna.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Barbara and her son are coming over for dinner."

"As in the son that goes to my school?" He nodded.

"Why didn't you tell me. I have exams to revise for and I don't exactly feel like meeting your girlfriend yet, dad. I hope I don't make a fool of myself at least." I took a seat at the table and rested my head in my hands.

"You'll be fine. Don't worry, just be polite and just be yourself. She loves you already from what I told her about you."

"This means I have to make a good impression." I sighed, not being in the mood. "When exactly are they coming?"

"Um..." He looked up at his watch and then at me. "15 minutes."

And then I sprinted upstairs to freshen up and wondered what Barbara and her son will think of me.

Yaay another update. I know there wasn't a lot of Luke and Gabi action going on in this but I'm trying to develop other characters as well, so I hope you like it. Also as its getting close to the tour part of the story, I think this means there's only a few more chapters left and I'm not sure about what's happening next. Unfortunately I don't think I'm gonna have a second book. I don't have a very creative mind to come up with good twists haha. I suck at them tbh 😂 but we'll see. Hope you like this chapter :-) pls keep on voting and commenting. It means so so much. I've reached 153k reads which is insane and omfg I never thought this would ever happen but I'm so happy and thank you again for everything you've done, whether that's voted or commented or shared it or talked to someone about it.
