If you haven't gotten the memo from my other books chapters will be shorter from now on, I'm making a new habit because I spend way too much time on Wattpad and not on actual life lol

...

"Are you ready to have the time of your life?" Ashton asks me, smiling.

"That depends on where we're going," I tell him, settling into the seat with new-found excitement.

"Nowhere particular," he replies. Leaning over, he starts the car. "We're just going to drive around."

I have no idea where we're going, right until the last second where Ashton pulls up at a convenience store. He buys a jar of Multi-flavor jelly beans and parks the car beside the building, leaning back and picking out all his favorite flavors. When I try to grab one, he shakes his head at me and suggests I play a game instead, his eyes sparkling with a new idea.

"It's called 'Guess the Flavor'." He smirks at me, and already I know where this is going. "You can't complain. If you get the flavor wrong you owe me another date."

Smiling at me with all teeth, Ashton makes me close my eyes first. I hear his hand moving around in the jar and he takes a jellybean out, laughing.

"Oh my god," I groan through closed lids. "What is it? Something gross?"

"Shh, you're supposed to guess," he mumbles, and then I feel his fingers touch the corner of my mouth and I open my mouth slightly for him to drop the candy inside.

Wincing, I chew it hesitantly as a bitter, horrible taste slowly fills my mouth. It's sour, but also tastes like vegetables and something gritty. I hate it immediately.

"Oh my god!" I yell through the thick taste. "Broccoli!"

"You're right," Ashton laughs, doubling over in laughter. I open my eyes and swallow the jelly bean quickly without tasting the rest of it.

"God, that was repulsive," I gag when the rest of the thing disappears down my throat. But I lighten up because now it's my turn to pick one for Ashton. I choose a particularly red jelly bean, hoping it's something like hot pepper or chili and shove it in his open mouth. It turns out it's only raspberry. Ashton smacks his lips in delight, and laughs.

"I hate you," I tell him.

We pick again, and this time I get lemon and he gets licorice. Ashton hates licorice. He almost chokes on it as soon as the taste fills his mouth, gagging and scrunching up his face in disgust.

We spend the rest of an half hour playing the game, finishing the entire jar one by one. I've never ate so many jelly beans in my life

...

"What are we doing?" I ask Ashton just as he discovers that his favorite flavor is strawberry shortcake, which I find disgusting. The sun is already setting, and we've been parked next to the store for over an hour. (Thankfully, no one has come to chase us away yet. ) By this point my sides are hurting from all the laughter, and my tongue can still taste the leftover flavors of the candy; both sweet and repulsive.

"Ashton?" I repeat.

"Huh?" Ashton asks through a mouthful. He's too distracted by the jelly beans at the bottom of the jar that he doesn't look at me right away.

"I mean, what are we, exactly?" I ask again, nervously drumming my fingers against the window sill.

Ashton pauses mid-chew, and finally meets my eyes as if he knows where I'm going with the question.
