dying star

Freckles like burning stars,
I connect the dots and scars.
Blazing constellations,
In your eyes I see the end of all creation.

But your depth I can't fathom.
Can I make the fading light in your eyes my new anthem?
You and the sun spin in tandem,
I know it's not random,
You share the same atoms.
The fire in your blood holds you for ransom.
The ones you love, you only madden.
How did this tragedy ever happen?
Please don't go out in this fashion,
I know your pores are filled with passion.
How many times you've bled stardust, I can't even imagine.
All you are now is just a smoldering phantom.

But that's the thing about space.

About you.

It's deadly.

You're deadly.

You're full of dying stars.

You're empty.
