I reached out my hand and wrapped my knuckled to knock on the door that leads to Zach's bedroom. This morning I woke up with my head aching, but I still managed to make it down the ladder of the treehouse (with Charlie's help)! Last night was a hectic time, but I couldn't worry about that now, I had to worry about Zach. My stomach couldn't stop flipping out of my anxiety over him. No answer came, so I slowly open the door and saw him inside of his bed. His left eye was swollen and face was red and purple. Dry blood was surrounding his nose. I saw that he was awake and I rushed to his side, grabbing the hand that was closest to mine.

"Oh, Zach... I'm so sorry..." I said this quietly and I couldn't help but cry. It was my fault that I didn't help him when I could.

He slowly blinked his bruised eyelids and his voice came out quiet and hoarse,"Callia..." a smile slowly spread across his face. He sat up and winced in pain. It hurt me just swing him in pain. As he sat up I couldn't help but notice the sheet he was under slide off his chest and noticed that he was shirtless. Yeah I've seen him shirtless before, but when you have feelings for him it's different. He had a six pack of abs which were hard not to stare at. His side looked all bruised up as well.

I sat on the side of his bed facing him,"How are you feeling?" I still held his hand looking into what I could see of his hazel eyes.

"I'm alright...," he didn't look like it, actually very far from it,"How's your head?"

"It's better now, thanks to Charlie."

A look came over his face, I couldn't tell what it was, but it seemed close to disappointment,"Oh... Yeah I'm glad he found us."

A moment of silence paused our conversation, until I broke it,"You protected me."

"What?"

"You know what you did! Thank you. You were brave." tears slowly fell down my cheeks for no reason. Maybe they were tears of relief.

"You're the one who actually knocked Jake to the ground with your act. Looks like a whole semester of drama class came in handy!" I smiled at his comment remembering how much I hated playing Juliet in a school production of Romeo and Juliet. Especially when the guy who plays Romeo is gay.

"Ha. Ha." I noted sarcastically. And then I really laughed after that,"After what I did to those punks last night, I highly doubt they'll be having children."

I finally stopped my giggling,"Please don't stop."

"Stop what?" I looked at him thinking he was crazy.

"Laughing. Oh I love your laugh." he closed his eyes in remembrance, maybe of one of our hilarious moments.I blushed at his compliment and Held his hand against my cheek,"I'm so glad you're safe." He sat up a little more while wincing. He then grabbed my arm and pulled me closer towards him kissing me gently. He moaned in pain when he tried kissing me even more and then I broke the kiss,"No, No. You're fine. The pain is worth it." he tried to kiss me again, but I gently pushed him away. As much as I wanted to kiss his godly lips, I couldn't put him in pain.

"No you need to rest." I helped him fluff his pillows and I pulled the blankets back over him. He looked disappointed and had a pout on his lips.

"Will you at least stay with me?"

He looked straight into my eyes, I felt as if we were ten Years old again when he finally got the chicken pox and he was in bed all day. I already had them when I was five so we sat in his bedroom playing video games all day. I still remember how his mom made him chicken soup and how she told me to make him eat no matter how much he begged. I walked over to the chair that sat in the corner of the room and pulled it up next to Zach and sat down,"Remember when we were ten, and how you had the chicken pox?"
