Finn had barely stepped out of the shower when he head the familiar motor of a car outside. He quickly dressed and pushed his short hair into place before there was a sharp knock at his flat door.
"I'm coming!" He shouted before picking up his badge and jacket and opening the door.

He knew the routine, so Finn jogged down the stairs and out onto the hot, dusty streets of the Jakku City outskirts. He quickly spotted the cop car sitting with its engine running on the other side of the road. He jogged over and swung into the passenger seat.
"She's very superstitiouuuuus!" Finn was sure his partner did this on purpose.
"It's to early for that much energy, Dameron!" He shouted at his partner as he closed the door, which only made the man shout louder. Finn wasn't a morning person, and hated having the early shifts, whereas his partner, Poe Dameron, seemed to love it.

"Cause you're a skyyyy, you're a skyyy full of stars!" Dameron whooped and Finn groaned before turning the stereo down as they reached traffic lights. He knew the man beside him could sing at a perfect standard, just chose not to. The lights turned red, and Poe took his hands off the wheel only to hand Finn a takeout cup of strong coffee.
"Oh god, you're a life saver!" Finn cried as he grabbed the cup and took a grateful sip. "What's on the cards for today, then?" He leaned against the chair and looked over at the dark haired, tanned man beside him as he turned right toward the police station.
"We finished that last case, so it'll just be the paperwork I suppose. Unless Organa has something else for us to do, that is." Poe stated easily, letting the wheel slip through his hands as he turned. Finn nodded. He needed to learn where Poe got his coffee in morning, it was always made perfectly.

The car pulled up and the cops climbed out and slipped through the spinning doors to the station. They waved to the man on the desk, and quickly made their way up in the lift.
"How's the bot getting on? Have you finally given up?" Finn asked as the doors opened and they started through the almost deserted floor toward their desks.
"Not by a long shot. I imputed the flight coordinates this morning and I'm going to test him out flying a toy, and who knows? If it goes well I might be able to quit." He laughed and Finn smiled.
"I'm surprised the military intelligence unit hasn't picked you up yet." Finn said as he flopped into his chair and started on the pile of paperwork on his desk.

It was about 10 in the morning when the station started to get busy, and about half past when Finn felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Rey! What're you doing down from your floor?" Finn laughed as he clapped the woman on the shoulder. Rey had been his partner for a short time before she moved from General to the anti-terrorist unit, and Finn to weapons control.
"Organa wants you and Dameron up top, you're coordinating with me and my team." Finn nodded and Poe was already on his feet and making his way toward the lift.

The trio stepped into Chief Inspector Leia Organa's office quietly, and stood waiting until she looked up from her papers, removing her glasses and looking at the group.
"Well." She cleared her throat. "What I'm going to task you with had to be completely nonexistent as far as anyone is concerned." Finn looked at Rey and along the line to Poe, and they all furrowed their brows before nodding, signalling to Leia that they understood.
"There has recently been...talk of an extremist group named The First Order. They have a huge amount of influence on several of the outer-rim towns, and they have been extending their power. We know very little about this group, except the two individuals that may be commanding them." Leia spun round two blown up photos taken from security footage.

The first was of what appeared to be a woman dressed head to toe in desert camouflage and body armour, goggles over her eyes and a scarf covering the lower half of her face. She stood at an imposing height, and with what Finn and Poe recognised as a FN FNC machine gun slung over her shoulder.
"We believe her to be MIA special forces, Captain Phasma. He don't have a first name, it was wiped off record." Leia stated blankly.

The second image was of a man, smaller than Phasma, but still a considerable hight. Every piece of skin was covered with black stealth gear, on on his face was what seemed to be a full face glass mask. On his belt hung a glock 19, beside that the hilt of a sword. He had a cloak on, in the middle of the desert, but despite the impracticality it did a good job of hiding his figure, making him difficult to identify.
"We know this man goes by 'Kylo Ren' but we can't say if that is his real name." Leia steepled her fingers and handed each of the group a file.
"This tells you everything you need to know about the situation. We suspect Ren and Phasma are here," Leia pointed to a long deserted town in the outer-rim, "and we want you to work out how to take them down. We will be collaborating with the Republic Guard Force, they're on there way here now. Read the files, start planning. We don't know when, where and at what scale The First Order will strike next, so we need to be quick." The group turned to leave, but Leia stopped them.
"Bear in mind we have no Intel on what the group are capable of, and the RGF had hypothesised that they have technology and weapons way beyond ours. Be careful."
